Common Amelia

While I know some reviews from the past have been critical, I must say my experience has been very positive. I moved into Common in November and had the easiest time having my application approved despite some bumps in the road on my end. My move in was seamless and easy, with the new management welcoming me into the building and ensuring I had all I needed. Further the few issues I did have were swiftly attended to by maintenance man Justin who is always kind and provides top notch service. Id say Common Amelia is a great spot to consider living in a really great location here in Oakland.

I saw this apartment complex on Zillow and contacted their office to schedule a tour. I got a call from a representative who knew nothing about the property. When I asked for the listings shown on Zillow, the rep quoted prices several hundred dollars over their listed price. When I asked why the prices were different, the rep hung up on me. When I tried to call back, they had already blocked my number. Beware... it feels a lot like a scam.

The new management company 'Common' has been a great addition. They have been very responsive to the various issues that have presented themselves to the complex as a whole and to my individual issues. Response time can sometimes vary but they are great at communicating. The place itself is kind of small but is a very relaxed environment.

We've had countless issues since moving in: - unable to access our car - fixing washer and dryer - water not running - no hot water - broken garage gates (multiple) - break ins - stolen packages The list goes on and on and we've been living here under 1 year. The worst of it is that they're unresponsive to calls and there isn't a direct person of contact for issues on site. Because of this, the issues would take weeks, if not months to get fixed. The way they run Amelia is below the bar for what you'd expect out of a "luxury" apartment, and frankly, disappointing across all aspects of living here. This place is not worth your time, money, or energy.

The worst company and service Ive never had in my life. The only answer you via emails. And it will take them forever to fix things. Theyre in NYC, so its like impossible if you want to find someone to talk to you in person. Its 2022, is it common? No, its not.
