image This school is definitely underfunded. With what funds that they have left, they have chosen to gentrify the school instead of actually providing enrichment for the students, paying the teachers, or funding clubs outside of the magnet programs. There are a great handful of teachers who are passionate about teaching as well as teachers who treat students like they're disposable. There are also great students that attend here or have attended Noho, but there is a clear difference on how residential students are treated vs. the magnet programs. Obviously they (students) wouldn't care about school because the school DOES NOT care to try and help them. Most of these students come from low-income backgrounds, toxic households, and therefore become a target for drugs BECAUSE they ultimately struggle with mental health issues. I personally attended this school and have had a positive experience despite coming from a background where the odds were against me. This school genuinely has more potential if they actually provided more mental health resources, funded classrooms, and were an actual EQUALIZER and not prioritizing the magnet programs.

image I understand that right now through Covid , things are hard ! But it's unfortunate that the staff cannot return calls nor emails regarding my kids education! It's been more than 3 weeks and I have not heard from Mr. Chavez the vice principal !

image Yikes. Dont send your kids here. All their accomplishments they display on the light up sign out front come from individual magnet programs. The average NoHo student is barely hanging on to C's.I attended for one year and it was the absolute worst year of my life. I was bullied physically and verbally and the administration at this school did not take any of my allegations seriously. In my math class, they decided that moving one particular person that bullied me to the other side of the room and telling him to "stop" was a solution. I dont even think his parents were ever made aware that he had put his hands on another student. The school is dirty & unkempt, the students are generally delinquent & drugs is a problem. This school is the kind of school you see in movies in the worst way. The teachers are all unpassionate and dont care to learn your name. Students are treated as a statistic. Either enter a NoHo Magnet like HGM or Zoo to avoid the madness of the general population, or choose a different high school. I do HIGHLY reccomend the zoo magnet- I graduated from there and the experience is a complete opposite. It's a shame they're even affiliated with this horrible place that calls itself a school.
