    Avoid this company any way possible. The application reps are extremely difficult to work with. They are not transparent when you ask for information. Stratus charges very high rates even if you have excellent credit (over 800). They also charge an origination fee over 13%. Then they are going to leave a canned reply to your review stating they would like to better understand and work toward a resolution. When you email them asking how they will accomplish this, they wont reply. Filling a FTC complaint since they wont provide proof they deleted and purged my PII. Lets get a class action lawsuit going!!

    Went through the whole process of applying for a flight school loan. Student loans should be deferred until graduation or completion. Loan officer tells me they require immediate start of payback. Not right. This was basically my only option to start my dream career and now I have to find a whole other way because of stratus. And man are the interest rates high! They are Im my opinion crooks and I advise anyone to stay away.

    READ. YOUR. Documents! I was unaware of the financing fee associated with their products. 25% fee added on top of your loan. READ your docs and make sure you understand them! Especially the final loan documents. It's VERY expensive to use their products. The loan officer was thorough, helpful and cordial.

    STAY AWAY! Working with Stratus has been a very painful experience. I went through the application process for over two months and was still not done. Every time we would seeming make progress and move to the next step they would request another document despite me asking multiple times with no response if there is anything else they need. Every time they requested another document I had it to them same day but that would still delay us weeks. It felt like I was the first person they had ever tried to do a loan for as nobody knew what was going on and could not answer any questions or provide any timeline. Communication is non existent. My loan officer Paula was absolutely terrible to deal with. Despite trying to get ahold of her daily multiple times and in multiple ways I would be lucky to get a call back once or twice a week despite her promising an update. She always called 10 minutes before closing and her favorite line was "let me check with them tomorrow and get back you to" to which she never did. Paula could not answer a single question I had regarding timeline and loan terms despite being the "loan officer". With this company you are your own loan officer. I tried to go over Paulas head multiple times but I was met with Ryan who I assume is over the loan officers. He is amazing at over promising and under delivering every time. I would leave with some hope after talking to him that something would be done about Paulas lack of communication and knowledge as he would express to me that he is aware of many complaints concerning Paula. However I must have been told that they were making me high priority a dozen times after month one, after month two I realized that means nothing. The only one worth anything at that company is Amanda but she seemingly lacks the power to enable change in the loan department. She was great to work with. All of this just to receive a loan with a 20% interest rate and origination fees +20%. When I asked them about the origination fees (which I only knew about from reading the reviews because my application is still not done) they said "that is how we make our money from the loan" as if they aren't making money off a 20% percent interest rate. I cannot imagine having to deal with this company and their communication for the life of a loan. You will be committing finical suicide if you take out a loan with this company. If they are your only option find another way at all costs.
