Sharma Brooks unethical behaivor is very disturbing. I witnessed it first hand. Do not be fooled by her web page and zip code. There are plenty of good attorneys out there. She is not one of them. Beware

Sharman is focused, smart and caring, as few lawyers/mediators are. She helped me twice win a difficult case to the point that a friend of my ex left a bad review, just in spite. I would hire Sharman back anytime

Newport Family Law has been my preferred choice for several years now. My favorite attorney, Sharman L. Brooks has always been informative, responsive and supportive to all my cases, and Ive had many. Her communication is clear and shes accessible to her clients. I have already recommended her to several people. Every case is different and I have to say she has won all of mine with true integrity and commitment.

Brooks is a con artist and the worst attorney ever. Dont waste your hard earned money. She wont do anything for you except malpractice. State Bar of California issued a warning letter against her for her misconduct in my case. I posted my first review about a year ago. Ironically, right after I posted my true review to Sharman Brooks, five five-stars reviews were immediately posted after my review. Brooks is a perfect liar. I have used a few different attorneys for my case and came to Brooks because I wanted a good attorney. The minute she got my retainer she turned into the laziest and most inept attorney. She doesnt care about your case and only want is to rip you off. She will sweet talk you out of your money, but you will not get any results. She blocked me from the emails and communications between her and opposing attorney. She never kept me informed and updated. She even couldnt get the sanction against my ex which the Judge had already ordered in last hearing representing by my previous attorney. In order to get the sanction, I told her we needed to prove how much attorney fee I had already paid and to find out my exs assets. Sadly, she didnt provide the court with any of them before the hearing. The worst is that the opposing attorney filed the sanction of motion to compel against me because of her misconduct. The opposing attorney served Brooks meet and confer letter asking for discovery documents from me. She never informed me about that. The opposing attorney said they were going to file the motion to compel against me during the hearing on 5/7/2021. I asked Brooks why the opposing attorney said that after that hearing. Ironically, Brooks told me it was because the opposing attorney was unhappy. I was shocked after I read the RFOs of motion to compel filed by opposing attorney. In fact, Brooks got served the discovery request long before the hearing. She didnt do anything and never asked me to provide the discovery documents after she received the meet and confer letter. The sanction of motion to compel was fully caused by her negligence and misconduct. Instead of getting the sanction against my ex for me, her malpractice ironically caused a sanction against me. The worst of the worst was that Brooks started to try whatever she could to cover up her misconduct after the opposing attorney filed the sanction. The hearing of RFOs of motion to compel was scheduled for 7/9/2021. Brooks cheated me that there was no hearing on 7/9/2021. She fooled me that she would solve this sanction issue with opposing attorney privately. I didnt know we actually DID have hearing on 7/9/2021 and Brooks DID attend that hearing herself until 7/26/2021. I ordered the transcripts immediately to find out what happened in the hearing. The transcripts show Brooks lied to the Judge that I did know the hearing on 7/9/2021 and she didnt know why I didnt take part in it. She pointed the finger at me rather that telling the court the truth and admitting her misconduct. Brooks didnt want me to attend the hearing because she wanted to cover up her malpractice in front of Judge and shift the trouble caused by her misconduct to me. From the transcripts, I also found the opposing attorney filed several documents before 7/9/2021 hearing. Shockingly, Brooks never told me these documents because she didnt want me to know we ACTUALLY DID have hearing on 7/9/2021. She hid all facts from me. What an unethical attorney is Brooks? Dont be fooled by Brooks. Run far away from this Crook unless you have money falling from your trees.
