Our experience renting an electric Duffy was perfect! It was clean, in good condition, and had the enclosure to keep us warm. Kevin helped us and provided top of the line customer service. We also found the best price here. We were hesitant because reviews werent quite as high as some others but could not be happier with our decision and would for sure rent here again next time. This is my favorite place to rent electric boats. Very nice, knowledgeable staff. The area is really nice to ride around in, and we always have an enjoyable time when we rent from boat rentals of America.

We rented a 21 Duffy for a Saturday 2 hour afternoon cruise. The staff was helpful and courteous. My dissatisfaction started when we approached the boat. Not just our boat, but most of the boats I saw as we walked to our boat. The hulls have not been cleaned of seaweed and other aquatic freen growth that in at least half of the boats were some 8-10 inches in length at the rear bulkhead. Along the side hull was growth like shag carpet. Why is this a big deal?? Anyone who knows boats will tell you it effects the performance of the boat, everything from speed to steering and maneuvering. These boats are greatly reduced in speed as there isn't a ton of power to begin with, but this boat was painfully slow. Since I didn't see any other boat any better than the one we had, we just went. The motor was noisy and making a clicking noise at lower speed. I let the staff know when we got back I was not happy. The guy said the guy who cleans boat bottoms hadn't been there in a month. We owned a Duffy boat and had it cleaned each month. The growth I witnessed was significantly more than a month's growth. He said I can call the operations manager Kristin. So I called and left a message on Sunday, saying just give me a call on Monday, because I wanted to discuss this with her prior to submitting a review. Called yesterday (Monday) and still crickets. Sorry, but we spent $250 and don't think it is too much to ask for maintained equipment and a response when asked.
