AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! I have never worked with a more rude and incompetent body shop in my entire life. But don't take my word for it. Go find out for yourself, but be prepared to receive endless excuses, poor workmanship and constant delays. TOTAL WASTE OF TIME.

My daughter was in a minor fender bender (car still drivable). I'm on the east coast and she on the west. John who was the contact at Gary's took full advantage of the situation. They gave my daughter a $3000 quote, then found out the Insurance company paid more, and upped the amount by several hundred dollars! Long story short; I called and said my kids car wasn't worth paying that much for a repair, and she was picking it up to sell "as is" and will buy another vehicle. John was cooperative on the phone. The next day he, or some woman talking for him told my daughter she needed to pay them $550, for USED Parts (see pics) they had purchased from a Junkyard to repair her car! My daughter ended up paying for the parts to get her car back! A friend of mine who is a mechanic in Santa Clarita, said the parts are "junk" and "unusable". I called our insurance company (Progressive) to put a formal complaint against the business. Progressive said they wouldn't be recommending any of their customers to Gary's Auto Collision. And my daughter is filing a complaint w/ the state of CA. BB. All John had to say was that they wanted some compensation for the time and paperwork, and we would've paid them for that, no problem. But instead they went the "pirate" route, and will pay for it with bad publicity, reputation and lost business.

I had to have a piece of molding replaced on my car & they gave me a reasonable price to do the job. They were kind, professional, and efficient.

Gary is courteous, fast, and does excellent work. He strives to please his clients and does so. I took my car in for an estimate, after someone had hit my backend corner. My car is a couple years old, so the body and paint is still in good condition. Gary gave me an estimate, right on the spot, which was very reasonable. I took it back and had his shop do the repair, and it took only about 3-4 days, and it was beautiful when I picked it up. The bumper was perfect, as was the paint perfectly matched and overall, the car looked new. So, here I am 6 years later, with another car-another BMW, and a fellow named John is now working for Gary. John, is pretty much the intake and person you deal with and he was just as amazing as Gary, helped me with 2 different damaged spots on my car, and my car came back looking new, once again. I really love this place. I even had trouble with the insurance company of the person who hit me, and John intervened and helped. I just can't say enough good things about Gary's.

This shop is very good and very bad. The GOOD: Gary is a nice guy. Friendly, quick with a smile, nice clean shop, good on the phone, he enjoys what he does. The BAD: I have been going to this shop for years. When I first started going, the quality of work was very good. I had an uncle that owned a body shop for 30+ years and now he's retired so I'm familiar with very good work. In recent years, the quality of work has unfortunately deteriorated. When a repair is complete, the reinstallation of parts (doors, bumpers, windows, clips, screws, trim pieces) is poor. They either don't align or they were simply installed incorrectly. His paint and materials are high quality, but unfortunately the preparation process and finishing process must be kept in high standard or else you will get overspray, debris in the paint, bubbles in the paint, and not a smooth clean finish. In all fairness, Gary's guys can do a very good job. They can. But in recent experiences, they are slacking on quality. It only takes a bit more effort to transform from a "just okay place with problems" to a very good shop. They just need to try harder. I did bring up these problems to Gary (specifically parts that don't align or were mishandled, or installed incorrectly and he said, "Well, that's the way they go on." It's not. I can simply park my car next to the same year/make/model vehicle that has never had an accident and you can clearly see the repair issues. The magic of a body shop is not being able to tell that a car has had a repair in the first place. Or as close to that standard as possible. But if you can clearly see problems after a repair has been made. That's not okay. I hope things get better. They can get better. Just care more. That's all.
