Moorpark is a growing city that's trying to stay a small town, and unfortunately the repercussions of that are felt all over the city. From extreme traffic on the main thoroughfare to awful stop lights to sky high home prices (not to mention a major disparity between homes on the hill and homes on the valley floor), Moorpark struggles with its identity. That being said, this place is extremely beautiful, especially after a rainstorm. The people are caring and overall it's a fairly safe city. It also has fantastic parks and jogging trails on either end of the city, plus is a great spot between Ventura and LA on the 118. Moorpark is only 30 min from the nearest beach, an hour from DTLA or Santa Monica, and two hours from Disneyland or Santa Barbara. Moorpark is unique and has it's challenges as with every growing city, but the charm will definitely grow on you the longer you stay.
