Banfield Pet Hospital

I have brought my dog Juno to BANFIELD since I rescued her 8 years ago (shes now 9). Out of all the locations weve gone to, the one at 745 W Huntington Dr in Monrovia is our favorite. The staff are wonderful with my anxious girl and always remember her and her long medical history. We are moving to WA next week and are sad to leave the care weve received from this location. Weve interacted with Ethan and Kristin the most and they have been so personable and wonderful to work with. While we have truly missed Dr. Ho and Dr. Martinoff since they left, Dr. Duong and Dr. McCleanhave both been extremely helpful and informative in Junos care. I appreciate that they take the time to talk with me about her ongoing health issues and are thorough in their explanations. Theyve helped manage Junos hypothyroidism, dietary issues and arthritis/spondylosis significantly, which has allowed me to give Juno a multitude of outdoor adventures. My only complaints are the lack of appointment availability and long hold times when calling. As well as the unfortunate increase in cost of services over the last couple years.

They offer the optimum wellness plan. Its a good alternative if you are strapped for cash and or dont want to pay all upfront. But you will be locked in a contract for a year.

The doctors there were very caring for my dog. The front staff were always welcoming and friendly. They offered me multiple different paths to go for the last months of my dogs life. I wouldnt consider getting this tho for a senior dog since most services needed for a senior dog arent covered in this plan. Its great for guidance but the money isnt really worth spending. However the reason Im giving the company, Banfield, three stars is because of how the contract really binds you. I lost my dog recently to cancer and I called to cancel the membership because obviously my dog will not be using it since she is no longer present with us. They told me I can only cancel the membership from being renewed but that I have to pay the remaining balance. I thought that a pet passing away would be an exception, but the company, not the staff at this location, has no empathy and are more focused on collecting the money from the services that are not being used due to my dog being dead. Main point of this vent is READ THE CONTRACT! Dont get banfield for senior dogs in their last months because youll be stuck with however months left in the plan.
