Calaveras Montessori School of Silicon Valley

Our daughter has been attending Calaveras Montessori since she was 2yo and we have loved watching her grow and thrive at this school. From building relationships with her teachers and her friends to seeing the wonderful learnings shine through her. We love all the teachers and were truly grateful that they are a part of shaping her life. The seasonal curriculum and studio openings are such a fun way to get an insight on the childrens work and also to meet some amazing like minded parents. Its a beautiful community and we highly recommend it.

In the beginning, the school was being run properly the teachers were being treated with love, respect, and appreciation I was a teacher at the school for 4 years, and I noticed ever since Ms. Melissa took the head of school it went downhill from there. The teachers there are underpaid and always understaffed as more and more teachers came and went because of the bad environment. And the disrespect we had to take off the upper management. As I will miss the kids and parents they were so good to us. I will however not miss the disrespect I had to Indore working there. Just something to consider before applying at this company.

TLDR: when you see how the kids and teachers interact, you'll know your little one is in great hands. True Montessori. And they have an APP that tells you all the things you'd want to know. "He was grumpy" "he only ate half his lunch" - at least now I have a data point for if he's off when I pick him up! And the pictures . If you've added Calaveras Montessori to your list of potential preschool/ day care, I recommend signing up for their initial introduction call sooner than later. Openings are limited and the school has a very respectful structured enrollment process. As a first time mom, it kind of felt like a lot just to get my little one in somewhere but after seeing 6 others in the area it was worth being patient. Miss Amanda runs the school and I love how she talks about the school, the teachers, parents and teachers. She runs a tight ship but it allows everything at the school to be all the greatness that it is. The classrooms are clean and well taken care off (I saw others and it was very well maintained). They do take days off randomly during the year for teacher learning and parent conferences - feels like they're invested and not high turn over. The communication over the app is phenomenal. I never feel like I have any questions only praise. The kids have structure but they also have options for autonomy. My son is happy to see but doesn't want to leave right away. Nothing is a better feeling then seeing his growth over the last 5 months and his affection for the staff. Thank you Calaveras Montessori- I know you do it for the glitz and glam but you're truly a warm place in our hearts.

Miss Jenny and the teachers are amazing. My daughter started at 4 months old and has learned so much. Ms. Jenny created an environment that follows the Montessori practice, allowing my daughter to learn and practice skills in the classroom community. Just to name a few, my daughter sets the table, cleans up after herself, cares for plants, helps cook meals, socializes and plays with other kids, paints, loves making crafts, and loves to explore outside. They have story time every day. You can tell the teachers truly care for the kids. Even nap time is calm, dark, and inducing to sleep.  The day is well organized and full of activities that encourages learning, socialization, exploration, creativity, practice of skills, and the building of independence. We have felt at home with the welcoming and loving nature of all the teachers and Ms. Jenny. Thank you so much for all that you do and the time you give every day helping raise our little one. We highly recommend the Nido Community, Ms. Jenny, and the teachers.
