Mercedes Roses was my guiding star through a complicated probate sale. We first met after a dear friend had a major stroke and I became her Power of Attorney. Mercedes was recommended to me by a social worker at the hospital because of her specific expertise in selling homes for individuals who need to vacate their homes and move to a facility for care.
Throughout the last year of my friend's life Mercedes checked in to see how things were going, offering helpful advice and resources at my request; when my friend finally died she was there to help me figure out next steps.
Knowing nothing about probate estates, I was fortunate to have Mercedes's expertise--she knew exactly what needed to be done and in what order. Before putting up the condo for sale, she arranged for the appraisal and suggested a contractor to do the necessary repairs and cleaning who turned out to be fantastic. During the sales period itself she was available to me at all hours (including while she was on vacation!), shepherding me through every step. She recommended several ways to increase the value of the property (paint, appliances, etc.), contracted a talented staging company for showing, and arranged for the title company with a trusted associate.
Throughout the entire 2 years of this process, she has been not only an incredibly professional and skilled realtor, but a source of kindness and compassionate support during the challenging and often difficult situation of caring for my dying friend and then for her estate. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
