The fishing is pretty good. Thats about it. Its a family friendly campground with more rules than a really bad HOA. The activities and amenities they provide have deteriorated and arent the same quality as when I was a kid. You pay all this money for cheap scavenger hunts, broken arcade machines and more. The rule enforcing can be good sometimes dont get me wrong, youll feel safe while youre there but it goes overboard ALL THE TIME. Employees can push the limits all the time. There is no official accountability or way to report them and there honestly needs to be. Small examples: - I remember being yelled at for riding my bike at night; by myself as a teenager. Mind you I was causing no problems, they just kept harassing me because they felt I looked too young. My parents were pissed. - cant have a gasoline golf cart - They have harassed my folks before because their tent was a 2 man tent instead of a 4 man. (Seriously?) - cant drive the golf cart unless you are approved (for example, my uncle cant hop in the golf cart when he visits unless we jump through their hoops to have him on the list) - harassing my 16 year old cousin who was left at camp during the day while his dad was called into work. He drove his bike to the store and back to camp and they almost didnt let him back into camp because he wasnt an adult. He was on a BICYCLE. They pay their employees barely anything for them to drive into the mountains and work. They suck every nickel and dime out of you for new fees, dues, fines ALL THE TIME while their CEOS get richer and their actual workers get poorer. Its ok to visit as a guest but I would never own a membership here. If my family passes it down Im honestly selling it. Also, dont do the tour if you plan to buy your timeshare from a third party because they will make you sign a thing that says you cant buy from anyone but mountain lakes for a certain amount of time. (Third party memberships are cheaper! Because its people tired of their games selling it to someone who actually wants to deal with it) The fishing is good but not for how much they charge. Im sure theyll continue to increase that price as well. At least they keep the lake stocked - its the least they can do for how they price gouge their members and honestly their employees too.
