image Dr Saiki was quick to respond, same day service and made us feel at ease and comfortable during our sweet boys transition to heaven! Thank you for helping us send him off in the most peaceful and stress free environment possible, in his home, with his family!

image Unfortunately we are faced with this tough decision. First call with Dr. Saiki and it lasted about less than a minute. Its hard enough to take the steps to make this call. We start with the hard decision we have made due to our pets health and start on the story a bit. We mention the age and Dr. Saiki repeats it back shocked. Youre in the business of this and you repeat it back shocked? We are already struggling with it enough as it is and that is not an appropriate response for a vet that specializes in this. Dr Saiki then cuts us off (sounding a bit indifferent) and asks where we are located in the bay. We mention where we are and Dr. Saiki responds oh yeaaa thats 30 miles from me yea I dunno thats pretty far I only make it up there certain days. So casually like its an appliance to be fixed or a simple appointment to have. It was at this moment I ended the conversation promptly. The lack of compassion and professionalism was pretty astounding for a vet that specializes in this. Even if we are out of your service area that could be handled in a much more professional and kind manner due to the circumstances.

image On a Monday evening I reached out to a company that my friend had referred me to that would send a veterinarian to our home to give our 20 year old "baby" a peaceful transition to heaven. The company called back in the morning and informed me that they didn't have any availability until Thursday. I knew that our kitty could not make it that long or if he did, he would be in very poor shape. I felt the point of making the very difficult decision to euthanize a pet was to have it happen in a timely manner. I made four more phone calls and some were out of town or the pricing was very high and the timing would not work for my kids to say their final goodbyes.
Dr. Saiki wasn't able to answer the phone, but she texted me back within 10 minutes of my message and said she would be available in 30-45 min. She texted me when she was done with her appointment and I asked her if we could speak on the phone. She called me between appointments and we were able to schedule 3:00 p.m. which gave the kids time to be home and spend two hours with him.
Dr. Saiki was running 15 min late, but sent me a text letting me know. She arrived with her medical bag and we filled out the paperwork for the cremation services and her services. She will take the pet, and take care of all the cremation piece so that you don't have to transport or figure all of that out. You also can schedule the return date of your pet in their urn. You should plan it for when you know you will be home since you need to sign for it.
I knew we couldn't consider taking him to the vet office to have this done since he would have been so stressed to be transported there. His last two years of going to the vet hadn't been easy for him.
We chose to have him in the place that he would feel safe and content. You will need a garbage bag and a towel or blanket to put under your pet. It can prevent any bladder or other issues. We didn't end up with any, but given that it was on our bed, it was safest to do it this way. He was surrounded by all of us giving him loves and hugs before she gave him the sedative to relax him. She then checked him numerous times to make sure he was completed "asleep" as if he would be able to have surgery. He had kidney disease so he started having some neurological twitching so she added a muscle relaxant the help him. When he was ready to get the final injection, we each gave him a final kiss and whispered in his ear how much we loved him. One of my children and myself left the room and my other child and husband remained with him to the very end.
She took him and put him in a box to transport him to be picked up by the crematorium. Apparently, they will get all the pets in the area once a week. I was so grateful not to have to manage that process at all.
She also did a paw print for us and left that with us. It takes about a week to fully harden.
I can't thank Dr. Saiki enough for being available in a time that was beyond difficult for my family. She showed compassion toward our cat and said that we gave him a gift by having his final days be handled this way and not allowing him to die in pain and suffering. I just couldn't bear that at all. He was such an important part of my life for 20 years and I wanted his final days and hours to be with us and surrounded by us in a setting that he loved.
I'm beyond grateful that there are services like this available. Dr. Saiki is a mobile veterinarian, so she can take care of your pet's other needs as well. We are very glad we chose her to help his transition into a better place and I do believe that I will see him again some day.

image Dr. Saiki is a caring veterinarian who provides an emotionally supportive at home euthanasia service for our companion animals in their most dire time of need. We knew that our Basset Hound was nearing the end of his life and planned for his transition to occur at the office of the veterinarian who had cared for him for many years. Unfortunately when his time finally came on a holiday weekend our suffering poochie was unable to endure transport to his vets office during regular open hours. We knew that we needed to end his pain so we decided to look for an at home euthanasia service. After checking the internet and discovering Dr. Saikis testimonials we knew she was our preferred choice. Even though she had never met us before she called back within two hours after we left a message detailing the situation. She was able to set up an appointment to come and help ease our baby on his way. She explained the procedure, describing what we could typically expect at each stage, but also providing thorough information on possible atypical responses. Our hound had a very gentle peaceful passing. Dr. Saiki was able to prepare a pawprint keepsake for us in remembrance of our pooch and provide the same cremation services that are available at a traditional veterinary office. Her service helped to ease an emotionally wrenching situation. We are forever grateful.
