I have been coming here for many many years, and I must say this is a great place to get an eye exam and get some new prescription glasses. The doctor is very patient, friendly, and really knows his stuff. I was referred originally like 10 years ago from Jules Stein here in Westwood to this office.

Occurred to me I've never left a review of my eye dr's office for all the years I've been coming here (about 8 yrs). Excellent eye care, product advice, recommendations, and yes, samples! (which is extremely helpful for selecting just the right contact lenses). They are highly experienced and always willing to go the extra mile to deliver a positive customer experience, especially my guy Steve. Thank you Dr. Hyman and team for taking expert care of these old eyes. :)

Absolutely the best. Dr Hyman has a great attitude his conscientious and really cares, aside from being thorough. If I could give 10 stars I would. His assistant, Steve is also great. Getting an appointment was easy. Nice, clean atmosphere too

As a longtime, highly myopic contact lens wearer, when I moved to L.A. from the SF area in 1996 I needed to immediately find an optometrist.  Probably let my fingers do the walking and by chance contacted Dr. Hyman's office.  And that was it.  Twenty-six years later I am still a customer; by far and away the longest medical relationship I've ever had---and I'm not a guy who is a fan of doctors.  Doctor Martin has always been friendly, real, down-to-earth;  no condescending 'tude like so many med professionals nowadays.  And he has guided me with gas permeable ("hard") type lenses for all those years, the kind few wear today, because of my prescription and because the vision is better with them than with the soft variety.  When I hit 50, he also guided me through the mid-life close-up reading issues, by suggesting "monovision" (one lens intentionally too weak so as to be useful for closeup, the other eye carries the distance vision, the brain combining the images so that you don't need those annoying age-screaming reading glasses with the ugly chain around your neck).   In the course of the most recent appointment the first set of contacts from the lab did not give me the exacting vision we both demand, so he sent them back (his instigation) and tweaked the prescription.  Now I'm seeing very well indeed.  I know that he keeps up with tech advances in the field, too.  No more dilating the pupil with drops and waiting for that to happen, and having to wait to drive home later due to the bright sunlight working on the dilated pupil.  Now there's a new camera that photographs the retina through the normal undilated pupil, and he can show you the photo of that immediately (very interesting to see the blood vessels, optic nerve etc); no more drops!  Every time I see Doc M. I tell him I wish he had gone into internal medicine, that he would have made a superb family doctor; but he humbly says he's very happy in the niche he's in, that he's not into the invasive stuff!  You'd be hard pressed to find a more competent and friendly optometrist/contact lens guy.
