Trejo's Cantina - Hollywood

We were in LA in May and really wanted to eat here and we made it! First of all, the food is excellent. Wait staff is very friendly and we had a great time. Portions are reasonable as well. But one of the things that stood out to me happened as we were leaving. I wanted to purchase a patch. I collect patches from different places we've been and I sew them onto a tote bag I have as a travel bag. There was a nice gentleman at checkout and I think he was maybe the manager, dressed very well. And he didn't charge me for the patch, said it was on him. A small gesture for him but huge for me because people just don't do that sort of stuff anymore. So thank you to that nice gentleman and to everyone there. We will be back one day! Highly recommend.

I was excited to go to this place. The place was empty and the host saw us waiting and ignored us. He decided to clean a table right behind us. He saw us again and walked away. I felt discriminated. Finally he comes and ask us where we like to be sitting at. I told them patio. He sat us in the very in corner of the restaurant hidden from everything. We ordered the Fresno chili drink they brought my drink after 15 minutes. Then they brought my friend's drink 40 minutes later. I told the hose I was disappointed of their service. She Shrugged her shoulders and only said I'm sorry with a smirk in her face. It took me 10 minutes to get somebody to get our order after our drinks were served 40 minutes later. Our tacos came out cold. I can only see say the only good thing about the food was the avocado and chips. Mr Trujillo you need to revise the service here and the food I was very disappointed of the service and food. I mentioned it to our server how they can compensate us for waiting so long to get our food mind you there was nobody in the restaurant besides a total of 15 people. Nobody gave us credit or apologize for their awful service. All I have to say I will not come back again and let the bad taste on the food and service. As for the drink named after Fresno chili I strongly suggest you remove it off your menu

Parking: Valet parking was $15 during the day, was lucky to find street parking, a block away.

Food was great, as always. Service was a little slow, but the server was apologetic and kind. Were willing to work with our allergy restrictions (although we just chose to go without that meal).
