Avo Donoyan: Allstate Insurance

The absolute worst customer service ever. My homeowners insurance was assigned to this office when my agent retired. I have had a policy since early 1980s and have been pleased with the customer service until I had to contact this new agency. When my insurance needs changed, unfortunately Allstate was not able to offer a policy to me. I am aware of the challenges with insurance companies no longer offering homeowners insurance in California; however, the communication and level of support from Marty Guzelian deserves zero stars. When I was not clear about his explanation regarding my current coverage and asked him for clarification, his reply was that I did not want to accept the companys guidelines. I simply wanted to know if I was currently covered under my policy. His comment was unprofessional and unnecessary. In addition when I repeated that my sister and I own our property as joint tenants, he said, if you had said that earlier, wed be having a different conversation. I still dont know what would have been different. This was annoying since I had definitely mentioned it earlier. Naturally, this type of commentary made me feel less than confident that Marty listened well, was professional or wanted to help me. I have since left at least 5 messages via email and telephone asking for the owner Avo Donoyan to call me. I guess its not surprising (after reading another review), that he never called me. Unacceptable and far below my expectations for an Allstate representative. I read another bad review here about the owners unprofessionalism, so maybe it was best he didnt call me back. Clearly the office culture is not great. Im sure absolutely sure no one reading this would be pleased if their agent didnt return calls or respond to phone messages. Seems to me that this office cannot be relied on to help when it really matters. By the way, I contacted another Allstate agency and the staff was professional, courteous, and helped me with what this agency could not. Shop around. Avo, I read your reply. How would you know anything but what your agent communicated to you? It would have been a professional courtesy for you to return my call or reach out to me. You have yet to return my calls, which is simply unacceptable. I stand by what I wrote, and you should not speak to what youve done for me because Ive never spoken to you once. I understand you support your staff, but its equally important to listen to your customers. You have no idea what was actually discussed. Again, I encourage anyone who reads this to take this into consideration when selecting an agency.
