2 blocks walk from Winshre/Western station on the D subway line. There are supermarkets and restaurants nearby, so it's very convenient. It's good that breakfast is included. Unfortunately, the room was small and very cramped, and water came in through the vents on rainy days. Many of the guests spoke Chinese. Perhaps because of that, the habits didn't suit me. For example, at breakfast, while I was leaving some bread in the toaster, she pulled out my bread, placed it on top of some book, and started toasting her own bread. Also, even though there weren't enough seats in the kitchen, I was putting things on the desk to save space and going somewhere for about 30 minutes without eating breakfast.

People that work here arent bad. But the people that stay here are extremely rude. Chances are that you will share a room with some of these people. They will have absolutely no respect for you. Stayed here a couple of times and it happened every time. Its what you get for a cheap stay in this city.

I recently stayed at The Rumi for 3 days. I am an avid solo traveler and based on reading reviews and location - I booked this place. The location is quite prime. It's located in Korea Town so all Korean food lovers should consider this place as paradise. Good Korean restaurant located at walking distance. I tried a couple of them. I was staying in a dorm with 6 beds. The room was clean but the snoring sound of one of the roommates was too loud. However, the washroom was also clean. A charging point is available for each bed. Food is not allowed inside the room. Most days, I was roaming around the city so I used the hostel just to sleep. However, I ended up making a friend from France. He was super friendly and kind. He was in the same dorm. Overall, I met people from different walks of life here and I had no complaints with anything apart from snoring. The hostel has a safe ambience and dining area as well. If I come back to LA solo, I would definitely consider this place again. Rest I have uploaded the pictures of the common balcony outside my room where I use to relax after a tiring day of travel. Rooms: Dorm. Walkability: Near the bus station. Noteworthy details: Cool balcony.

the only thing that is worth the price of your stay at the Rumi is its prime location near the Wilshire/Western station. other than that, is a whole humdrum of a bunch of tourists and visitors on a work trip co-meddling in an overpacked building like a school of sardines squeezed into a vacuum sealed tin can, if you know what I mean. Im not sure why this place made such a devoted effort in making sure the stay here for my daughter unpleasant, but they did. Her roommate who has an obsession with Korean culture kept talking about Korea to no end. Additionally, it was the same roommate that happened to be on a home stay contract with the building. So she works there. And she complained to the staff that my daughter was eating food in the room or washing dishes in the bathroom. She probably did that because the communal kitchen on the main floor was filthy. My daughter has anxiety and does not do well in large crowds. Being asked to leave and leaving her no place to stay, then canceling her extension last minute is unacceptable treatment and purely unprofessional service in terms of hospitality. Im sure her Brazilian roommate will find plenty of other roommates to bully during her time there. Oh, one more thing. Please have a working number instead of having the caller be directed straight to voice mail with the pitiful fake number listed on your google profile. Thank you :)
