Unionized labor... benefit to customer, regular expectations of standardized prices and produce especially week to week. Ask anybody though, rarely will that model produce excellence. There's little incentives for that end. Is it good enough in this arena? Probably. A commodity, foodstuff...
The relationship between Ralphs grocer and customer isn't the farmer's market model, grower to consumer. Interactions can be pleasant in either case, but when might it be more commonly pleasant or at least where might there be more incentive to foster a relationship?
Yeah.
Big business vs any alternative. Community Supportive Agriculture, farmer's markets - true ones, not the bastardized ones that buy wholesale and fake signage it to seem as if they are local farmers.

I bought a bunch of food in the middle of the night and sat down and ate some of this and looked down and realized its covered in mold. This is a serious health issue.

Horrible experience. The employees at the deli and seafood section are great. The checkin counter Ms. Myung is completely Racist and mean. The Manager is never there when you need help and doesn't care to work. Shows no effort, horrible place to be.
