The Social Type

This is my go-to for cards since I live nearby. Not as big of a fan of the stationary and gift portions of the inventory, but the card game is absolutely an A+, and cards are SO important. Oh, also, they have an insane gift wrapping situation going on behind the counter, and I've seen people go absolutely bananas ordering that stuff.

A lovely little neighborhood stationery store with carefully designed merchandise and a curated selection. Reminiscent of the many stores that have disappeared. The Social Type is a welcoming place to have available still. The card selection is limited and yet fun. Stationery sets, notes, and other paper products are distinctive. Other items are eclectic and yet refreshing to see available. The staff are helpful and are excited about the products they sell.

This place is an absolute treasure trove for anyone looking for unique cards, captivating books, and stylish coffee table books. Plus, if you have a soft spot for LA, they've got you covered with a great selection of maps and calendars.

This store is small, well curated and arranged. They've got a ton of cards, notebooks, writing utensils all arranged by color - which, if you're like me, is a very satisfying space to be in.What struck me the most though, was the guy behind the register was kind and welcoming. He greeted all of us when we walked in. He noticed my kid and showed him some cool chalk that looked like french fries.Anyway, we got these cool little "Los Angeles" and "California" trays that you can put on your desk to keep your random trinkets from taking over your space. Love it. Great shop. Kbye.
