UGH! This just happened!I just talked to the contractor's wife. When I told her our zip code (90043) she asked, what is like "down there." I asked what she meant and she said her husband doesn't go down there because he's worried about tools and stuff getting stolen. Apparently, she saw that it is close to Inglewood. I suggested that she google View Park and wished her a good day.

I really wanted to like these guys, but the timeliness of the design drawings and the actual outcome did not equate. Way too pricey for the work they put in. Like 10x more than what the actual work put into the design. I hired Roger and his wife thinking they had the experience. They took measurements of my house to get the drawings design done. Then each iteration of the design process, I would have to follow up more than a month out - as if they've forgotten. Then Barbara, his wife, would respond, how about we go over this iteration next week? That was the process I had to go through with them. I had to call to follow up on my drawing, then a week later we'd go over it. It simply meant they forgot and it took them less than a day to draw something up quickly -- I mean the floor plans looked like I could do them on some online software. In the last iteration, I guess they gave up on driving to my place so they wanted me to go to their office. (Ok what changed?) anyway. Roger presented me the itemized costs. These were rounded off numbers and without and links to a product. Again, one of the reasons why I said that their job was not worth the price they charge. The estimates were simply ball park numbers and without any references to, let's say an item from Home Depot. If they did that, then I could easy justify the price that they're charging. But it made me feel that they had some idea of how much it'll cost and they placed an arbitrary number there. Also, they have positioned themselves as the contractor to do the job. So the estimate they created are done so with the intent that they want to bit for the job. Hence, the estimated cost of the job is biased to their benefit -- just in case they land on the jobI would not recommend working with these guys. Maybe for half the price, but not $4000 for a design job for a 1000 sqft house.

Roger, We would like to take a moment to thank you and your staff for the beautiful remodel of our house. It was a great experience working with you. We felt that we always had someone by and on our side. From the design phase, through the build, and all the way to making sure everything was functioning properly when we finished, you were there for us. Your advice and wisdom helped us transform more than just our kitchen and bathroom. It made a building our home. It is a fantastic feeling to walk into our house every day and see the results of all your hard work. One of our favorite things is the way you designed everything to blend into our existing house. The new areas look like they were always there. A real magic trick! The kitchen area has become a central gathering area in our home, a true warm addition. And the new bathroom has a spa-like feeling. You really did a lot with a small area. We love it. Barbara is a fantastic customer service representative whose smile I can see when she answers the phone. Communication is key to a large project and she kept us all connected. Alicia is an invaluable designer. She helped us design and select the beautiful tiles, colors, hardware and a million other things that we live with every day. Things that make us love our house. Mark,Troy and the rest of your home builders are exceptional. I have lived through several other remodels and I can attest that their ability to get the work done fast and efficiently did not stop them from being courteous and kind to the occupants of the house. They kept the work areas to a minimum and always had us in mind. They made sure to keep the area clean and livable. For that we are grateful. Roger, you have assembled a fantastic team. The whole experience of dealing with Roger and his crews was just incredibly professional. Everything that we expected and more was done.All of the workers were very professional and courteous, and we always felt special because of the way we were retreated while this construction project was occurring. The design by Roger was of course unique and made our home very special because it was designed just for us. The work was actually done in the time that was predicted and was even better than what we expected.There's no way that I could have expected anyone else to do the quality and high level of exchange that we received.If you want your home to be special and unique and impressive, then let Roger take care of it for you.
