I went to this school in 1997 and it helped me kick-off my career in Telecommunications. Back then I did not know what Telecom was or what it consisted off. But low and behold here I am in 2024 still going at it. It has helped me more than provide the basics for my family, by far. It helped get out of the inner-city life of L.A. and put my girls through private school. I am not sure what type of life I would have now without it. But like a lot of us who live and or grew up In a violent neighborhood, day in and day out, for the most part, and your surrounded by gang's and drugs. That kind of stuff makes what you are. Your neighborhood influences you to be a certain type of person. And to keep it simple . It influenced me to be a not so productive and positive member of my community. To all of you that want to get out of the gang life, especially if you have a family and want to break the gang life cycle. Go to school and learn something no matter how bad you see yourself. It is possible to break the gang cycle.

Written July 23rd,2023. This place truly disappointed me on every level. Its the lack of communication / follow up for me, and sheer unprofessionalism. I guess depending on the job youre interested in that determines who you deal with. Had to beg for a counselor to contact me regarding the CDL program. After months of emailing calling going up there trying to find answers I simply decided to go through another resource I was able to find. First I was told they were getting funding july1st. I went to orientation in June which was a joke because all they do is sign you up, no information is given about the course, what to expect etc. if you dont ask you simply will leave with no information. This place just gives off shady in my opinion. After a month of emailing then I am told funding is in hold. No counselor ever called to discuss my goals what Im trying to accomplish details about the things they offer NOTHING. I understand that the funding is on hold but had i been the one handling calling people back I would have simply been honest and discussed all the things that the center offers instead of ignoring people and telling 1/2 truths. I wish I could give zero stars because this place completely waisted my time. I ended up just emailing them asking to destroy whatever information I had given them. I also LNOW they did nothing with my information because when I went to another center and they looked me up on the system my name popped up but no information had ever been entered in the system. It was just a complete waste of time money resources gas honey just everything if you can go to the one on slauson and Normandie or the other center 1055 Wilshire blvd both of those places were much more helpful and organized than this s**t show!

10/25/22 So I walked in and there she was. Reception lady has a long face on her (middle age person - this is not about ageism, but just a point of reference). No greeting. Nothing! I stated my mission. All she said was: ok, sign in over there. Took my temperature. She shouldn't be the first point of contact upon arriving. Not personable at all! No warmth, no enthusiasm, not engaging. She shouldn't be in that position!

This work for is useless!! The employees as well as the supervisor are very rude and the lazy. They should close this site for good because they are just getting salaries for nothing. I hope that those rude and lazy people out there become jobless to see the real meaning of helping others!

Staff is friendly! The process of getting assistance is OUTDATED! They require laid off workers to come in, have tons of paperwork printed and filled out by hand to get the training assistance. All of that can and should be done online, from EDD to our work source programs, our systems are completely outdated.
