Transfiguration Church

This is my Church! I live in Monterey Bay now, and when I come home to visit I always go to my church because I feel at home.

I attended this parish for over 50 years. I would have never considered attending any other. However, over the past 4 years, I began to notice the presence of homeless encampments and fowl odors at each of three entrances--and inside-- when I attended Mass each week. As a parishioner, I offered to clean the church..and I did. Twice. Then, I spoke privately with the resident priest who told me that all were welcome. He even insisted that I continue to clean the church. However, what do you do to protect and retain those people of your own parish who no longer feel as though they do belong? Recently, while driving by, I noticed that there were iron gates which had been installed at the front and side entrances...and there were still homeless people doing inappropriate things and their personal belongings were sprawled all over the church property...in front of the iron gates. I was very disheartened. I also rest my case. I am currently attending another parish which respects those which support the Archdiocese and deserve to attend Mass in a clean, peaceful, and safe environment. God bless you.

My Grandson is a student here, so we went to Mass on Sunday, I enjoy the day, Pastor was very good with the service and we enjoyed the church songs and my grandson was teaching us what to do with prayers and to enjoy the music
