I was a client of Mariposa in 1994 and I remember Alice being so kind as I was so lost and broken. They started my recovery journey and I'll always be grateful for that.

My sister is in here at the moment and I normally get phone calls from her through the week. Havent heard from her in awhile, so I decided to give the place a call and when I asked to speak with my sister shes like no no no call back another time. I asked why and she said theyre on restriction thats why! I said Im on her release of information I would like to see how she is doing since I havent heard from her and she just hung up on me. I can only imagine how they are treating the girls in there. One girl does something wrong they all get put on restriction. Dont expect to see how your loved one is doing cause they dont seem to care. Staff needs to start showing compassion for these girls and how they talk to clients family, because they rubbed me the wrong way. Very upset. They need to do better!!

My name is Felicia W. an I was sent to Mariposa back in 1996 or 1997 an I was there for almost 6 months an I can remember Maria was in charge of the place but I also remember the other Maria which was a counselor an Alice was a counselor to. Back then we played musical bedrooms an I remember sleeping in the back bedroom an I was so scared of that room because if you had to use the restroom you had to walk out the room an go to the garage an use that restroom . But we had our problems to with staff trying to control our Food stamps. I don't miss the place but I do miss the people I made friends with..

Mariposa has the most loving staff and counselors. This place saved my life. I would highly recommend this place to any women that wants to stop the deadly addiction of drugs and alcohol.
