I had the opportunity to work with Martin Scott at US Bank for the very first time, but not the last one. I am a real estate agent from the city of Long Beach, CA who needed to refinance two properties.I had the fortune to find Martin Scott.I started looking for different mortgage lending companies on-line and I was able to talk with a few mortgage lending officers. In my opinion, it is a big difference working with on-line mortgage lending companies and with a local mortgage lending company.First of all, with on-line companies, they make you think you will get a good interest rate, you will need to pay higher fees and higher discount points, so at the end you will pay more.Secondly, communication is an important factor in any finance transaction. For a first home buyer, for an experienced investor, or for a realtor helping borrowers to buy their dream home, good communication is one of the most important factors in any transaction. Working with on-line mortgage companies was not good at all. You would feel abandoned in your financial transaction.Last but not least, in my opinion, working with on-line mortgage companies,  you are one transaction more. They work with volume of transactions, and I feel like you are just another number. Also, they work with certain parameters where your information criteria might not be in these parameters, in this case you may not be able to fulfill your financial transaction.With Martin, communication was very good. Even when he was unable to answer the phone call, he texted me and acknowledged that he received the call and called me right back. Also, he was able to guide me in other different steps on the transaction. In my opinion he went "the extra mile" as a mortgage loan service officer.My wife and I are thankful for his assistance in this transaction. My "Kudos" to Martin! I mean it!

Martin Scott at US Bank was our mortgage broker for our home purchase in Los Angeles. He was lightening fast with replies, answered all of our questions and was patient and kind throughout the whole process. Given the hot market, everything had to move quickly and Martin was able to turn things around within minutes if required. He made us aware of a number of credits we could get for the loan, which was amazing. We loved working with him and would recommend him to anyone interested in a home loan.

Martin was very professional, highly knowledgeable and transparent with our the loan options. He helped my husband and I, who are first time home buyers, with all of our questions and made sure we got the lowest rate and all the credits available for our 30 year Conventional loan. With the credits his bank offered we didn't end up paying any closing costs!! Woo woo. His skills are what you need if you're looking for a mortgage loan officer.

We just refinanced our house with Martin at US Bank. He did a great job.  He was always there to answer my questions (quickly, either via text or in person). We had done a few home loans before, but the refinance was new to us.  It was no trouble at all!  Smooth sailing with paperwork, applications, notaries etc.  I highly recommend him !
