White Knight Plastering & Stucco

I cant speak for the work he does, but Im giving this review for the advice he gave me. I had a leak issue on a new roof. The roofer stated it was from the stucco wall. Barry came out and we talked through the issue. He started asking questions about the roof and how it was put on and concluded it was a roofing issue. Barry provided me with a report I used it in my conversation with the roofer and they said it could be the issue. Now the roofer will come back to deal with it. Even though I offered to pay Barry for the advice and the report, he did not accept any. Thank you

Barry White at White Knight Plastering and Stucco is top notch. He demo'd and replaced a very large two story stucco wall in my home that had been damaged due to a roof leak. I was pretty desperate for the repair to be completed after being displaced from my home due to this incident. During a stretch of time when stucco contractors were booked out for months in my area, Barry was the only licensed stucco contractor who was responsive to my initial request for bid. Luckily for me, he had recently hired some new team members and was able to start on my job almost immediately. The team quickly demo'd the old wall. Soon thereafter they began the process of putting up the plywood and lathe for the new wall. The city inspectors in San Ramon are very strict (for example, they noted that some screws were screwed in too far in the plywood layer), but Barry dealt with them and patiently corrected the issues. Once Barry's team started the stucco layers, the job was soon finished, The end product is really great. I can't believe how closely Barry's team matched the finish of the new stucco to the rest of the 30 year old stucco on the house. Barry always prompted returned or answered my calls through the entire process. He had a bit of a struggle with his office admin during the time I worked with him and he ended up having to fire that person, which I can only imagine made an extremely busy time even more stressful. (And may be the reason for some of his negative reviews on yelp). Luckily, his new admin, Bernadette, is very helpful, polite and friendly. After my job was completed, Bernadette and Barry also returned paperwork required for me to get reimbursed for this expense from my insurance company in a timely manner. Overall, White Knight Plastering and Stucco did a wonderful job. I highly recommend Barry and his team for any of your stucco or plastering needs.

Barry & his crew were always top notch! The finished product was even better than I could have imagined. They always went the extra mile for me and my now gorgeous home. Barry even corrected errors my other sub's created with flashing and water sealing so we knew the job was done right!...The first time! My wife and I interviewed around a half dozen companies before settling on White Knight. We are thrilled with our choice. They are the perfect blend of professional, approachable, and affordable. We had just purchased a house that was a real fixer, and the work they did helped to dramatically change our appraisal when we put in to refinance just 8 months after moving in! The most valuable thing I can say about the company is that Barry White obviously takes time to pick exactly the right people to work under him. Every one of the guys who showed up at my place was courteous, friendly, and really knew their stuff. These were folks who took a genuine pride in their work and their craftsmanship. Quick example: I saw one of his workers stop one day and look over a section of wire that he was putting up over the paper in prep for the first rough coat of stucco. He was alone on the site, and he didnt know I was watching him. I saw him looking back over the work he had done and at one point he put his hands on his hips and shook his head. He stomped once and then started undoing his work. He pulled out a good bit of the wire he had been putting up and then redid that whole section of the wall. The whole thing took him maybe 30 or 40 minutes. Before and after, to be honest, I could not see the difference in what he had done, but he could. And he fixed it. No one told him to. No one was watching over him. He didnt know I was there. And that was the way Barrys whole crew seemed to work for the whole time. They wanted things done right. Barry was around often to check in with me and to be sure I was happy. This was in real contrast to a couple of different companies we hired (to do our roof, for example and our gutters, too) where some knowledgeable salesman closed the deal and then disappeared never to be seen again. People with far less knowledge and skill showed up to actually do the work. Not so with Barry. He talked us through the whole project, he did his sales pitch and follow-through (which was friendly and absolutely low pressure) and he was there almost every day his crew was, checking in, keeping communication flowing, making sure our choices were understood by his crew. Just top notch professional beginning to end. I would recommend this company without any reservation at all. Most of our work was done on the front and side of the house. Well have to do the back in a few years, and you can be sure White Knight will be the first (probably the only!) place well call. Great job!
