I toured this facility when I visited "The Villas". Although the floor staff are different, they are run by the same admin staff so you can expect the same level of care.

Silver Oak Manor is an example of don't judge a book by its cover! It appears clean from what you can see of the facility. The outside gardens are pretty but unfortunately that was the best of it. We worked with Anne who was very passive aggressive, did not have answers to most questions, and gave incorrect information regularly. It was an awful experience working with Anne and many of the nurses at this facility. My mom suffered from dementia. She was only at this facility for less then one month and we moved her out because of safety issues and how she was being treated. It is a difficult thing to move someone with dementia, but this was not a safe facility. They lost her belongings, she fell and was hurt, badly bruised along her ribs and hand, and they regularly asked her to be responsible for her phone when she has dementia. They didn't answer phone calls in the evening, they didn't want to give updates on how she was doing, they didn't help her with her phone or Tv. The list goes on. This facility is not caring nor compassionate. More then anything, you want your loved one to be taken care of and treated with respect. If we would have known how badly she would have been treated we would have never let her move in. My mom was moved to another facility that was amazing and everything Silver Oak Manor was not.

Ive worked here for over 2 years now and Im enjoying my job as Social Services very much. Have so much fun working with the residents and their family as well. I am learning everyday and looking forward to more working years with my Avondale Villa (Silver Oak Manor) family.
