Optum - Laguna Hills

I just moved here and needed a new primary care office. I had a normal, good, positive experience with Optum. I would go again! They were very welcoming and the visit was quick. Not sure what's up with the 1 star review.

Dr. Kelly Gee is amazing!  On my first visit, I left with the specialist referrals I needed, and every doctor she referred me to was excellent!!  Follow up with her after those referrals was easy to book, and she thoroughly went over all results with me.  I love Dr. Gee's fresh perspective on my health! I also want to give a big shoutout to her staff!  Both the front office and her assistant are fantastic!  They are so nice and they get back to me when they say they will.  I couldn't be happier with Dr. Gee and her staff!     Thank you!

I came in this morning for an appointment with DR. G to make my primary. I had a psychiatrist referral for Short term leave from a disability. I discussed what I needed prior to coming in. The doctors office charge me $40 for a copay and gave me a referral to a psych doctor ( I came in with one so this is redundant) she refused to help fill out my paperwork and had me leave with nothing but frustration and a paper I already had. I came back to express my frustration because the referral said my only options were taking medication which was not what was recommended by my original psych. If I was a pregnant woman I would have no problem getting  FMLA paperwork signed but because I am a 30 year old male they just either did not want to help or were being sexist and judgmental that I was trying something fishy. Regardless they atleast gave me a refund (hence 2 stars) after calling them out on their sexist tendencies. Literally got helped my another MD and the paperwork took about 5 minutes. This place does not want to help you unless the insurance pay out is big or they can prescribe you medicine. Crazy that is this difficult to get proper help!!!! Will not be returning ever.You are doctor and you signed an oath to treat and help people if a distressed man comes in with high blood pressure you should do everything to assist him not just pass the buck and say sorry but we don't want to fill out this paperwork.
