EMDR Therapy For Ptsd, Trauma, Anxiety & More

Torri Morris is an incredible counselor and specialist in what she does. EMDR is her specialty and after over 10 sessions with her, my symptoms were reduced significantly. She keeps things real with you and helps you process your trauma in a truly compassionate and profound way with her incredible insight and wisdom. I have met many counselors in my day and Torri is one of the best Ive ever met. I recommend her for anyone with a military, first-responder or law enforcement background.

(check the reviews for tori posted to yelp's page for the kaiser permanente in aliso viejo.) i went to tori for e.m.d.r. therapy, to reduce avoidances i have developed related to past traumas. 1st session: tori asked how i was, interviewed me about my anxiety & recent triggers, told me the basics about e.m.d.r. therapy, & told me we would begin on the 2nd session: 2nd session: tori asked how i was, & interviewed me again about my anxiety & current triggers. about 10 min. in, i asked her for a referral to a practitioner very unrelated to her field. she explained she doesn't do that. i expressed that i understood, & was ready to move on in the conversation. however, she wasn't done discussing the topics of my current situation. she revealed several false assumptions. she accused me of being fixated on the past. no, i was discussing current triggers, & when she blamed me for them i was explaining how i recognized they were imprinted from past traumas (just as i had made clear from before we began). then she said "this isn't in the scope of what i do here, but you need to focus on your insulin, financial [this] & home [this], RIGHT?" i wasn't going to argue any of those topics with her (e.g. insulin is not required to treat my form of diabetes--there are options), but SINCE SHE WAS ASKING, i answered "no, i'm not in agreement with that". so, she said the same thing a 2nd time, & asked me again. "sorry to differ with you, but i feel comfortable-enough to let you know i don't agree." so she said the same thing a 3rd time, to which i again didn't argue but simply disagreed. do i really have to agree to "prioritize" insulin, for her satisfaction (even though she says that's beyond the scope of what she even does)? (what does she even mean by "prioritize" it?) well, apparently i do have to agree with all that, because she immediately decided i was no longer a "good candidate" for her therapy! she chose to waste at least half the 2nd session with stuff she said was not in the scope of what she does. yes, she _chose_ it while i specifically followed her lead. i paid for 2 sessions of e.m.d.r. therapy, but received none (& still don't understand why). tori seems awfully presumptuous & judgemental to me, to not only steps beyond her authority (into home, finances & even pharmaceuticals) but also to basically demand she be agreed with "or else".
