Been meaning to write this review for a while and as we start the new year, I wanted to be sure to protect others from the experience I had.  Dr. Fang, while a nice person, is not a strong practitioner.  She did bilateral cataract replacement for me.  One eye went fine, the other did not.  Understanding that things happen during surgery, she did not listen when I was expressing concern about what I was feeling in the eye.  She also continued to assert things were fine, even after looking into the eye.  I am unsure if she did not take the time, did not want to admit to the error, or lacked the competence to realize the lens was placed incorrectly.  Either way, all worrisome.  Thank fully, I found a competent physician who did emergency surgery (due to concerns I was going to be blinded).  My sight was saved but I was left with even worse light sensitivity than pre-surgery (which reportedly was the reason we proceeded with  the surgery to begin with).  I expressed concerns to John Muir, they forwarded to Dr. Fang, and John Muir told me she would respond to my concerns.  She never did.

Tried to get records as I moved out of area and having vision issues. Woman on phone was extremely rude and unhelpful. Said they do not have electronic records so she has to copy and mail them. Asked how soon they would be mailed but her only answer was "when I can" with absolutely no sense of urgency.! This is outrageous when it comes to our sight.  She said no one in the office where charts are to look at medications or notes. I asked for number to the office where they are but turns out no one in the office period. Horrible patient service here. Will contact my insurance company, Medicare, and John Muir to file complaint.  Dr might be great but employee ruins it.

Dr. Fang is a great opthamologist..She cares for both mine and my husband's eyes.She has removed cataracts from both my husband and myself. She's professional, competent, and friendly...answers all your questions...is accessible by phone post surgery. We both highly recommend Dr. Fang.

I am posting this review on behalf of my father who does not have a Yelp account. He recently had cataract surgery performed by Dr. Fang on both eyes. He thinks very highly of her and was extremely impressed by her bedside-manner, skills, knowledge and professionalism. I have no reservation in recommending her to any person that is in need of quality care for their eyes. Thank you Dr. Fang for taking such good care of my dad!

I would never trust our most treasured gift of eye site to anyone else.Our family history of eye disease is critical to avoid the "mall stores" or God forbid the 15 minutes of Lasik treatment. Dr Fang is a surgeon as well and when it is the right time, she will perform my surgery.  She has bound less energy and i have seen her amazing compassion, understanding, and patients dealing with seniors especially those80 plus.  I am very blessed to be a long time patient.  She does provide  routine eye exams as well which ensures my eyes will continue in good care.
