Ron is an excellent teacher. I was a complete beginner to the instrument and looking for an instructor who could help build a solid foundation, and Ron delivered. Lessons covered many topics, including understanding rhythm, hand technique, and playing on a drum kit. He emphasized understanding rhythm and how to count it more than other teachers would, and that was exactly the kind of in-depth technical approach I was looking for. In terms of playing technique, his expertise really helped to quickly identify any problems I was facing and he knew just how to address them. I'm really happy with the progress I've made after just a few months, and think he succeeded in getting me set up with a good foundation for continuing to study drums on my own. And if I run into any issues in the future or want to study some technique or genre in more depth, I'll definitely be signing up for some additional lessons. If you're thinking about drum lessons, Ron's the man!

My teenage son has been taking lessons with Ron for just over a year, and he has made more progress than in two years before that. Rons approach is to focus on technique and foundation first, in order to be able to play any style. Ron is very rigorous in his teaching methods and always goes over the lessons time limit, which shows his passion for teaching. Ron always tries to find shortcuts to make the student understand better. Building off of basic techniques and rudiments, Ron is able to make the student apply those skills for more complex things. He has taught my son many things involving his technique and brushes on them daily, and only once the technique is fully understood can the fun begin. It is also a very fun class! He has taught my son many beats from many different songs, at the moment working on the Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin. He lets the students choose the song which they want to play and helps them perfect it. Whatever it is that your child wants to play (jazz, rock, Latin, etc) Ron can teach them the style easily.

Ron is a great drum teacher. My son was going through several teachers until we found Ron. He is patient and knows his stuff and my son loves to practice his drums finally !!!
