Excellent physician, worlds leader in IBD care, THE source for access to and knowledge regarding cutting edge treatments for IBD. If you have simple IBD he is great but if you have complex IBD his expertise is paramount.

Dr. Sandborn and his team are incredible. I had been dealing with very severe UC for many years. I was in an unlivable situation and nothing had helped. Tons of hospitalization, medications, and so on. My father did a bunch of research online to try to find the best. He sure did. I went down to La Jolla to see Dr. Sandborn after talking with him a little bit through email. He worked with my regular gastro (at the time) to see where I was. I had tried almost every medication available with no success. All the other doctors were certain it was time for surgery to remove my colon. I didn't want to resort to surgery unless it was the last option. Dr. Sandborn agreed with me that there were still more options to try. He had been working on tests with a new medication (Entyvio) and had me put on it quite quickly. After only a few months of seeing him, my UC went into remission for the first time in years. He's now my regular gastro. It's always a pleasure when I have an appointment to see him and Dr. Evans. They're both extremely knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. I recommend them EXTREMELY highly. Best you can find.
