Mobix Labs is a tech company that is able to help change the speed of networks through the design of new products. One of the goals of the Fifth Generation (5G) networks [1] is to have a scalable and extensible core network that can support high flexibility for various vertical markets and in changing load conditions. Network function virtualization (NFV) [2] is a key enabler to achieve this goal, bringing the ability to dynamically instantiate virtual network functions (VNF) when the need arises. In doing so, NFV enables a network operator to efficiently utilize core network resources by dynamically deploying core network functions. In contrast to traditional core networks, which rely on rigid and high cost network devices, a virtualized network system can be deployed on commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) servers, which provides network operators with both low deployment cost and flexibility in deployment.
