Such an epic experience!!! I highly recommend doing a shaping lesson with Larry. Awesome guy and very knowledgeable. He teaches you everything you need to know about shaping, shows you how to do each process, and lets you get it at. We shaped a modern high performance twin fin. It came out so good! Can't wait till I can surf it.

We have had only wonderful experiences with Harbor Isle Surfboards! My 14 year-old shaped his own board and he rides it all of the time with pride. Larry is a very kind, patient and cool teacher not to mention a great shaper! We have also purchased boards-great quality/integrity of materials, and we always leave happy. Mahalo

I was looking for a mid-length fish, but I either couldn't find what I wanted, or if I did, it was way out of budget. I had Googled "shape your own surfboard," and Harbor Isle came up. I mentioned it to my wife in passing, and she ended up secretly setting up a lesson with Larry for my 30th birthday! I spoke to Larry over the phone about what I was looking for so he could get an idea of what kind of blank to buy. When the day came to shape, I had an amazing time -- Larry is so, so knowledgable about surfing. He's patient, kind, and such a fun guy to work with! Shaping my board felt so special, and having Larry as a teacher throughout the process helped me understand how a surfboard functions better.
I loved that Larry documented the entire lesson so that I had videos and photos to look back on and share with my friends and family. After about three weeks, my board (which had customizations that were exactly how I envisioned in regards to the paint) was ready for pick up. It rides so well and is everything I hoped for and more. I would highly recommend reaching out to Larry for a lesson because it's not only a really great experience, but also more cost-effective when it comes to a custom board. I'll be back when I'm ready for a shortboard!

One of the most special experiences Sam and I have had. Larry is a legend! Hes kind, patient, and its clear that hes super passionate about what he does. We love the environment he creates in his studio welcoming, fun, inspirational. He was detailed in explaining the process and improving techniques throughout the lesson. Larry was extremely easy to coordinate with and thoughtful in his planning. Were beyond happy and stoked about our experience with Harbor Isle. I

I booked a surf board shaping session for my boyfriends birthday with Larry recently and I couldnt be more impressed. Larry is amazing and goes above and beyond for his clients. My boyfriend had nothing but great things to say about the surf board shaping class he had. The board also came out amazing. I highly recommend booking a surf board shaping class with Larry!
