image Dr Shirley Chao was a referral from a girlfriend a long time ago and they have the best service and care you can expect from a dental office. They always address your concerns and they make the whole experience less painful as possible.I have been referring them to everyone that asks for a reliable and honest dentist.Today just had my tooth extracted by Dr George and it was faster and easier than I ever imagined. Highly recommended.

image Dr. Shirley and Dr. Chao have my total trust!!  Let me tell you I had very bad experience with other dentists in So Cal, who told my ex bf that he had 11 cavities but he actually had only 2 (when he checked to make sure at another dentistry).Dr. Shirley won't tell you to do something unnecessary in order to make money.  I used to have my regular check-up here but since I didn't have dental insurance for more than two years, I just started coming back now.  Today I brought my mom who bit into hard object and had a chipped molar.  My mom was already prepared to either have it extracted or filled.  But Dr. Shirley told her that the tooth was still very healthy and shouldn't remove it now.  And filling will cause more damage to a tooth.  So she simply filed it without charging us anything other than the x-ray.  She has a good heart and she really cares about her patients!  I remember last time she spent 10 minutes just to tell me how it important it is to floss.  And all other staff here are very friendly!!

image So I waited 3 days before telling my BF that my tooth was hurting. When one does not have insurance, one hopes that the pain goes away on its own.  He is immediately concerned, and I find myself Yelping for a dentist. It says by appointment only, but I definitely think I could've walked in and they would still have seen me. I called and whomever answered was very friendly and said to just show up.Easy process, and uh, I can't remember who did my initial consultation, but after taking a look she said "Ooh your gums do look a little angry," and I was sold. Quick X-ray confirmed I had an infected tooth, she prescribed antibiotics, sent me on my way to return in a few weeks for extraction since it was a wisdom tooth. Consultation? only $30 since I was doing a follow-up procedure. On-site pharmacy was great.Booked a Saturday appointment with Dr. Henry Lee, showed up at 11am, was done by 11:40am after a quick and painless extraction. Granted, I only had one tooth taken out, but he was efficient, professional, and for anyone who cares... they are a predominantly Chinese clinic, but he and the other dentist as well as assistants all spoke perfect English (We talked about grad schools and the benefits of quinoa while I was getting numbed up.)   The extraction cost only $150 for one tooth with local anesthesia... small price to pay for not having insurance!

image Okay, I haven't went to the Chao's for dentist work for a long time due to me moving around so much due to work. I moved back down in SoCal a year ago.Two nights ago I chipped my 2nd molar tooth. Unfortunately I lost my job and working independently ever since so no insurance on hand. For the sake of not wanting to have an infection, I was willing to take on a huge credit card debt. Called in the next morning and they scheduled me the next day since I wasn't in pain.On the day of the check up, I was greeting by the wonderful staff who joked that it's been a long time (5 years). I was really worried about them not taking me so I let them know ahead of time that I didn't have any insurance which they assured me wasn't an issue. No wait whatsoever, gone in, sat down, got an x-ray. Dr. Chao (the husband) came, in look at my tooth and told me the options that I could go with, either to file the tooth down or get a filling. I let him know that I will have to pay out of pocket since I just lost my job and have no insurance but I want to make sure I don't have an infection, he assured me that I don't however for the sake of my health he recommended me to consider to get a filling to prevent further damage. He stepped outside, sent in the front desk lady to lay out the option and their respected payment which I found to be very reasonable (almost hooked up level)! I immediately told her I want to go ahead with a filling. The procedure went very smooth, the only pain part was the anesthetics, but after maybe 30 minutes of placing in my new filling I was ready to go and feel so much better about my day. I was so happy about everything that when I pay by credit card, I even joked that there should be a place where I can write down a tip (and I so would)! Now I know why my mother always took me and my brother to the Chao's since we were young.Short summary:Great work + Great staff + Great service + Letting me know that they care for me as a patient = The Best! THE ABSOLUTE BEST~!

image She is the best dentist I've ever have. I travel more than 1 hour to see her every time and I will never switch as long as I still live in Southern California.
