Had Martin (the owner) come over yesterday and give us a quote, he asked about our sprinkler system and my husband (Ian) told him we have one but havent set up timers yet. He helped him out with it and gave him a quote for $190 for a monthly lawn service to just mow the lawn. Husband and I talked about it and decided to go a different route I called Martin back today to cancel any planned service and he said that was fine but he was going to send us an invoice for yesterdays visit. I was pretty confused so I asked how much it was going to be because all he did was give us a quote and help with the sprinklers. His reply was dismissing my concern, Im not sure if he was being passive aggressive or if this is just how he treats female customers. Either way I found it very uncomfortable and unprofessional.

Upfront pricing and estimates on a variety of services with no hidden fees. Friendly workers who are easy to work with. I had full day of yard work and cleanup and was very pleased with the quality of service they provided. I have no doubt the routine yard maintenance service we have contracted will be the same.

Mr. Valdez (Marval Landscaping) has done a number of projects for us, as well as weekly/semi-monthly maintenance since 2012. We bought a newly constructed house on a 1/2 acre lot, so we needed a lot of work done. At the time, Mr. Valdez was working
my himself. He has a crew now, is licensed, very dependable, honest and great to work with. He listens to our ideas and uses his knowledge of the soil in the area to inform us what will or won't work. We didn't want plants needing a lot of water, so he used succulents, cacti & drought tolerant plants. We have horrible "soil". Many plants won't grow on our property even with added/amended soil; and some plants and trees can grow in a certain areas of our yard but not others.
Mr. Valdez/Marval Landscaping also does hardscape. Mr. Valdez, by himself since he had no crew at that time, built a deck on our hill with a path from the backyard up to the deck and planted plants and trees on the hill that would work with our soil. He landscaped our backyard with cacti, succulent, drought tolerant plants and flagstone.
In light of not getting much rain in the last 8 years, we had Marval Landscaping relandscape our front yard which had been done at the end of 2011 by the developer's landscaper. The difference between working with Mr. Valdez/Marval Landscaping and the developer's landscaper was night and day. Marval Landscaping removed the original plants in the front yard since they did not do well, removed the bark (for fire safety), and relandscaped with succulents & cacti, rocks and rock ground cover. The front yard is now very low maintenance, requires much less water, and it looks nice!
We are very pleased with Mr. Valdez!
