image We rented an apartment for my daughter from them The Penthouse apts during the Covid school year.  When my daughter and her roommate go to move out  my wife and I went to clean and make sure everything was in great condition prior to turning in her keys.  The walls were all clean. All the nail holes were patched. (Cleanly done) bathroom, kitchen, living room were all spotless. The tile in those areas were super clean. We even arranged for the carpet to be cleaned and paid them directly. Fast forward almost 30 days later we get the deposit check back mind you the deposit was $1820.  For a 1 bedroom apt.   -$406.35. The itemized bill stated that the apartment was completely painted. Which they had to do anyways when a new tenant comes in. The person I spoke to said the reason why they charged us was because the entire room had to be painted for the tiny nail patches that were left. No way in hell did that painter paint the entire wall. Everything was super clean and I guarantee you that painter only touched up where we repaired the nail holes. This is highway robbery! This management company looks to take advantage of your college student. We we're never late with rent.  My daughter and her roommate respected their apt.   Frankly, they were one of the few apts that were lived in.  This is ridiculous how this company tries to make up money anyway they can.  I STRONGLY RECOMMEND DONOT RENT form Kamap property management.  Penthouse apts.   I explained everything to the person I spoke to over the phone.  He basically said sorry nothing I can do.  He tried to say that patch jobs were done bad.  I did them.   I know they were correctly!   He said some ridiculous comment of "if you wouldn't of patched the holes it would have been less money".  WTF?!!!     I told him that I have properties that I rent.  I would would never try to get over on tenant like this.   Do not use them.  Stay away!!!!!

image Update: Holly called me even before their office official open time to correct the mistake that she also realized. So I've changed rating from 1 Star to 3 as she's been always very helpful and communicated clearly. Original post: Terrible process. To be fair, with a couple of the staff, when I talked to them, they were professional and I didn't have a problem. BUT! I'm highly questioning their check deposit process, one of their BASIC functions. They deposited our deposit check on Feb 22nd, a week later, they called and asked for that same payment and insisted that they didn't get the check (which they deposited a week prior with correct account information on it!). Long story short, we are trying to get that rectified at this point, another week after they deposited a second check of ours, and found out they only open 5 hours a day during the week... Oh, by the way, their online portal doesn't show ANY payment history even though they've taken our deposit money TWICE already
