image CTB Eatery is located in a strip mall location nestled behind a back parking area of Brookhurst St/85 degrees and 99 cents store. It's next door to Oc & Lau and Cho Tam Bien. I don't know what CTB means or know anything about the owner's vision from their website. My friend wanted to try a new place.Atmosphere (3/5). Low key and dark narrow bar style. Two televisions. Not much of any other remarkable decor besides the beer kegs as the spacing was tight. You really couldn't see the bar or kitchen as they were blocked off too. Some people like myself enjoy seeing how things are made, especially if it is Yakitori. It was a Friday night and this place was empty. The space also shared a hallway with Cho Tam which my friend thought was weird when he went to the bathroom. Service (4/5). Angel, our server has great customer service skills. She asked about any food allergies and gave us a thorough explanation of the menu and recommendations. Menu (3/5). There was a two-sided Vietnamese-influenced food menu. You'll see apps, soups, rice dishes, hot pots, oc, salads, etc. There were so many choices and I unfortunately felt that they could've focused on one thing. Anyone could have walked next door to Oc &Lau for Oc/lau or Pho Lovers for a specialty in pho. One cocktail/spirits menu which all the pictures looked so good. One thing I wished they did was included all the ingredients they use in their cocktail and not just their spirit. One Yakitori a la carte paper menu. A great selection of gamey or unique animals (alligator, elk, camel, rattlesnake, camel, etc.).Food (3/5). My friend and I really liked the diverse yakitori meat selections. Our favorite was the elk. It was a bit chewy and wasn't that gamey. I did not taste any seasoning but knew they had dipping sauces. I wasn't sure what was in the sauces as they weren't labeled. One of them tasted good. We both ended up also ordering salmon entrees. It came with rice, salad, and soup. We thought our meal was flavorful but we weren't impressed by any unique techniques. We were generally pleased with our dining experience. There weren't any big red flags. However, we weren't sure if we would be eager to come back. A Vietnamese-influenced Yakitori bar sounds interesting but may deter many others to opt for a more authentic Japanese yakitori restaurant.

image Overall, the food and cocktails were excellent. The 2 items that really stood out were the deep fried intestine dish and the octopus salad. I will definitely be coming back!

image If you're an adventurous foodie I'd definitely recommend coming here. From their coyote to their rattlesnake and a lot of exotic meats in between, it won't disappoint. Very well priced menu. Amazing $15 dollar handcrafted cocktails that come with a serving of 2 shots...THATS RIGHT 2!!!!! And their $2 dollar bottles beers. The staff here was completely helpful with everything from ordering to just simply having to hear what you have to say. Our servers name is Vy. Amazing dude. Hooked it up with a large serving of cold saki! Vibes are straight dialed here. Come through and enjoy! Thank you CTB staff!

image This is a good nhau place as they have a variety of drinks, appetizers, and exotic yakitori. Our favorites were the deep fried intestines (must get!!), pig tongue, and chicken gizzard. The beef and elk were a little dry/overcooked....but we like our meats on the rare side but the taste was still good. Service was great and attentive and they made sure to ask about allergies before we ordered so that's nice. We'll be back!

image I was so excited to try this place but it was a very disappointing experience. I recommend reading this through before you come here.Start of with the good, the only thing really good here is probably the scallops and elk meat. The drinks were decent. The shrimp garlic noodles was so dry and the shrimp was horrible quality. Didnt taste fresh at all. Youre better off going to Vox kitchen to get the same thing but way better instead. The Elk meat was tender and sweet, but $8 just for that? not sure about that. The Deer meat was dry. I ordered 1 regular cocktail and 2 virgin cocktails. They charged the same price for the 2 virgin cocktails - and still gave it to me in that small cup. The restaurants ive been to will at least give you a bigger portion since there is not alcohol in it and not charge the same price. Its disappointing to see that this restaurant is focused on nickel and diming their customers. So if you want to get a virgin cocktail be prepared to pay for the same price with the same portions.Wont be back and dont recommend anyone to come here unless you really want to try the exotic meats. There are way better options in OC than this. Price and quality wise.
