The new management is the brother of the previous owner and revamping their restaurant with a new experienced kitchen staff. New Happy Hour 2pm-5pm Mon-Fri special price for Bun Rieu Cua Dong, Cha Ca La Vong, Pho Bo Dac Biet, Bun Dau Thit Luoc Mam Tom, and Canh Bun Cua Dong. Bun Rieu Cua Dong - Field Crab Paste Vermicelli: As their most popular dish, my relative liked it especially the Cua Dong which was shaped like a ball and gave the Bun Rieu its uniqueness. The tofu, cha ca, vegetables, and broth compliment each other. The clay pot and the bun on a separate dish are both clever ideas. Bo Ne - Sizzling Steak on Skillet: I liked this dish as the steak was very soft at medium well done. It came with a bowl of salad with freshly cut cucumbers, tomatoes, and salad. It also came with bread which I dip with the steak sauce. I asked for butter to go with the bread but they don't have that. But the owner said they will add next time which is a good sign that they care about customer's feedback. Canh Bun Cua Dong - Field Crab Water Spinach Noodle Soup: My relative's wife liked the broth and everything in it. She said the rau muong was fresh/soft, the tofu is thinly sliced as well as the cha ca. And like the bun rieu dish, the Cua Dong made it different compared to other restaurants. She liked it even better than same dish at Quan Bun Ban Mai. Bot Chien Trung - Tempura Flour & Fried Eggs: We all shared this dish. It took some time for this dish to come out. But I learned that this dish is another of their specialty in which they have to cook it in a special way, hence the extra preparation time. Was it worth it? Definitely yes. It was still sizzling and I almost burn my tongue. I dip the flour in fish sauce and ate with the garnish Cu Cai Chua (Pickled Daikon?). What made this dish stand out is the fried onions which was made fresh, not from pre-packaged jar. I can see why it took longer to prepare this dish, a must try. There is plenty of parking, but is packed on weekends. The decor is very nice from the bamboo walls to the colorful lighting to the mellow music. It all made it a relaxing experience while enjoying the good food. The staff were very attentive and friendly. This restaurant will do well for sure. I will be back to try their Banh Xeo, ppl are raving about it.
