This place is awesome! Its a legit community dojo I really appreciate the way this place is run. Not like a corporate money grab, but truly a place for people to pop in at their own schedule and practice to hone their skills. Coach Nam is also a really down to earth and kind hearted guy!

Cheap gym for a reason. My first bjj training day the instructor provided little to no actual instruction, just telling the class to warm up and stretch. He then went through a very brief demonstration on how to do a triangle choke then told students to pair up to spar. My partner was both bigger than me and way above my skill level he ended up seriously injuring my knee, which required surgery and has very seriously negatively affected my life in a number of ways. This incident happened in November of 2021 and to this day I am attending rehab for my knee and have been unable to participate in almost any physical activity. To top it off, the instructor showed no concern for my injury when it happened. As I laid on the ground in pain trying to tell him I had seriously injured my knee, he first told Me that I was fine and To just get up. When he realized it was more serious, all he said was "okay, then you're done, get off the mat." I regret ever stepping foot in this gym, and when people see my surgery scars and knee brace and ask me what happened, I tell them Nam Phan Academy did it.
