Wow! Here is how the conversation went on the phone.... Me: Hi yes, Debra Webb please.... Debra:yes this is she Me: I called the insurance company and they gave me your name and referral. Debra: what time were you wanting? Me: Im calling for my son to be seen and it would be after school. Debra: I have no times after school so, okay goodbye. Glad it didnt work out.... she sounds like She hates her job. :/

I started seeing Debra for help dealing with the loss of loved ones in my life but stayed on with her because I find her so comforting to talk to. Its been really helpful to have someone to talk to about the difficulties of adapting to life as a first generation Asian American. She really engages in our conversations and helps me feel heard. Its a far cry from the smile and nods I used to receive from my prior therapist when I had lost my baby. Not sure who is giving her a poor rating, but I appreciate that Debra always tells me like it is, and doesnt sugarcoat things. We are in therapy for a reason, to be honest with ourselves and remove our feelings from the facts. She is very trustworthy and I find her invaluable. This is coming from someone who usually stopped going after one visit with past therapists.
