Dr Miyamoto and his team, front office to back office, took exceptional care of my daughter for her wisdom tooth extractions. The customer service was 5 star and the procedural care was 5 star. Her pain was minimal, recovery uncomplicated and speedy. Overall the professionalism and compassion exceeded my expectations! ( and I very rarely leave reviews but this one I had to!)

Dr. Miyamoto is a great surgeon. I am a 59 year old female who was too scared to have my impacted wisdom teeth taken out! Finding a number #1 surgeon in OC gave me the confidence I needed to go through with the surgery. Dr. Miyamoto gave me free stem cell therapy($1500) to ensure speedy recovery, which I believe did have an impact! I recommend anyone who is old and scared of going through this surgery to go to Dr. Miyamoto and have the procedure done. Dr. Miyamoto is a very caring doctor who called me several times post surgery to ask me how I was doing and if I needed anything. I do not know how many surgeons would do this in their busy schedule!

The front office staff was very courteous and kind. They were very polite and helpful. The back office staff was super nice also and very professional. I was horribly anxious and nervous but they made me feel very safe and less nervous. Doctor was reassuring of the procedure and was very professional. I even received a check up phone call later from Dr. Miyamoto to see how I was doing. Thank you all very much. I would definitely recommend them!!

This dentist was recommended to us by our pediatric dentist and, unfortunately, we are highly disappointed. While the dental procedure in February went well for our daughter's wisdom teeth, their practices of billing border on fraud. I have dental insurance and, although this dentist is not in network (and now I understand why), my insurance does pay exactly in the same manner and amount as out of network. During pre-authorization with our dental insurance, they provided the office with confirmation of what services were covered and how much my out-of-pocket charges would be. Even with the pre-authorization confirmation in hand, the office refused to accept it and charged me the full amount and said they would bill the dental separately. After a month of waiting to hear if the dental insurance had received the claim, I reached out to the billing office. I was told the way they bill is to bill the medical insurance first, as a precaution, and then wait to bill the dental once they were denied from the medical claim. At no time was this ever relayed to us and it seemed off that medical would even be billed for dental procedures. I was foolish enough to go ahead and wait for the denied claim for medical (yes, it was denied because it's a dental claim) and the office finally got around to billing the dental insurance. Upon immediate receipt of the claim, the dental insurance made payment and sent promptly at the beginning of May. I have waited for nearly a month to receive my reimbursement and finally contacted the office, only to be told that their policy is to keep insurance reimbursements for a minimum of 2 weeks so they can be sure that the claim is indeed closed, at which point they then deposit the check and wait further to be sure the check cleared. They received the check the first week of May, cashed it on the 16th, at which point it immediately cleared according to my insurance, and it is now the 31st and this office still has not cut me a check as they said I still need to wait another week. Upon calling their bluff and demanding immediate reimbursement (they're collecting interest on my money while I am paying interest on my credit card!) I was told the doctor is out and not able to sign a check until his return. I asked if they could credit my credit card they had no problem charging in February and I was told they don't do credits over the phone. It will be another week before I get this reimbursement - a full month after the insurance paid it! Do yourself a favor - find a reputable dentist who practices in good faith and doesn't use your money to fund his office. We will not be using this dentist again. Once I receive my reimbursement, I will edit this and confirm immediate receipt, which is much more than can be said about the practices of this office. (Update: Immediately following this post, we received a call the next day and were told our check was ready. The office staff was even willing to personally deliver it. We went and picked up the check. Amazing how quickly this was resolved after this post. In the future, we will still go elsewhere for any oral surgery.)
