I was sent to Central Stars a few days ago. I came there voluntarily hoping to get the help I needed but the support and advice that was given to me was awful. There were a few nurses who were kind enough to at least help me feel comfortable there but the conditions in the facility were worse. There were times when it was freezing early in the morning and all we had were thin blankets that could barely keep us warm. They didn't even allow us to look through the window or to at least look at the sky. I could barely get any sleep because of how hard the beds were. This place really needs to change its system and needs to follow the regular building codes and I don't think that keeping kids indoors is going to "help" improve their mental health. For the very least please give them some real sunlight rather than some foam that's covering the yard otherwise we'll all be going insane. If you tell them that you're ready to go and you're feeling better then they will keep you longer and if you tell them that you need help then they will ignore you and say that they already "helped" you with the medications and keeping you "safe." If you are ever planning to send your loved ones here then don't. The location itself is bad and once you arrive they will treat you like some kind of criminal and put you in restraints on the way there. They don't even allow you to at least message your friends or family, you'll have to "wait" which takes days or maybe even weeks depending on how many people are waiting to use the phone. This place did more harm than good. The only reason why I'm never harming myself is because I'll end up in one of these facilities again. It does indeed work to prevent people from harming but seriously, this place could be better. I think that if I was given proper support and some real therapy then things could have been a lot better and maybe I would be recovering faster. I hope that whoever is reading this places this facility on hold because places like this treat children like animals. And if you're planning to give somebody some real emotional support then please send them to a normal hospital, not some living hell hole where the nurses and staff members either ignore us or make fun of us. (this does not apply to the whole staff but some)

This was the first place that stripped me from my childhood. These places should not exist.

This place while it was good to me it didn't really address my problems at all. Not to mention the fact that there was one client there who had been there for 7 months! Other than that this place is pretty dang good at being a helpful resource.
