  • Hey You!

    I am a diabetic going on 6 years now. I started having diabetic foot issues and those of you that know about it know we need to take extra special care of our feet because of neuropathy and the likes. That being said, I started having issues with infection in my feet and when it got to the bone I needed to get a trans metatarsal amputation (all my toes were removed along with some bone). Throughout all this my podiatrist started me on home nurse visits. Optimal was the third company to come out after my 5th time in the hospital to do my wound vac changes and foot care. Let me tell you, the nurse(s) that came to see me were a God-send. Amanda which is the nurse that has been coming out to see me along with Shauna is one of the best and knowledgeable wound care nurses Ive had to take care of me. She is attentive and caring, doesnt rush(like some other companies I had come out) and really takes the time to get to know you on a personal level. Throughout the process she makes sure I am comfortable, without pain and if there is an issue between what the doctor tells me and the orders they receive she will make sure to call and speak with someone before she does anything. Shauna is the same way and if Im not mistaken shes done wound care for many years so she knows what shes doing. The few ti Es Ive had to call the office(in the beginning), my calls were picked up, questions answered and the office worker made sure my nurse would call me back to answer any questions I had which was just to find out the time they were going to arrive. I have to tell you, I am so happy and honestly feel blessed to have Optimal Home Health nurses taking care of me because I got to a point where I was sad and just stopped caring about what was happening to me and if it werent for Amandas energy and Shaunas outgoing and caring way, I dont think I would be here writing this.

    I started using Optimal Home Health starting in January of this year. The nurse they sent out kept making mistakes such as incomplete dressing changes. Leaving out critical components of the dressing changes kit. Leaving out the anti bacterial disc. Doubling up on the ports other not removing the old port and replacing but putting a second one on top of that port. She understood that if the dressing was to bleed it needs to be changed ASAP... She waited 3 days to come out.. I sat for 3 days with a very bloody bandage.I ended up with another infection possibly from this bloody bandage or the infection never left my body. This Time the infection got my heart valve and there is basically no help for this. That's what the doctor said. So I am sent home on 6/2/23 I did not want Optimal again but somehow they were brought in. Today the nurse was to get the intake done. The Doctors orders were clear. She decides to question the orders. I showed her a screenshot of what I was being treated for this was on this screenshot This had nothing to do with what she was there for. Should have never showed it to her but the message was for my hospital nurse to take the vanco levels in my blood. This was at the hospital long before I was discharged and the blood test was completed. So she did not want to start the vancomycin which was very critical. Instead she calls the outside pharmacy not the hospital pharmacy. They knew nothin because the screenshot was for my own personal records showing what I was being treated for. The screenshot was taken at around 4 pm and was for the hospital staff not her she would not listen so I asked her to leave . Do not use this agency Connor follow simple procedures or orders. This company deserves negative stars not a single good thing will come from them...
