I can't say enough good things about Dr. Sah and his entire staff, top to bottom.  I had put off knee surgery for many years, having problems walking.  I am 70 years old and had knee surgery at his recommendation at the end of October 2021.  Surgery went a smooth as I could ever expect.  I couldn't be more pleased.  He and his staff have followed up with me after a successful surgery constantly.  I am currently still going to a rehab center and have progress steadily, successfully and ahead of schedule according to all !!!  I am walking much better with NO pain.  I would reccomend him highly.

Dr Alexander SAH is by far the most joint replacement surgeon anywhere!! Unfortunately he is associated with Washington Hospital, or he would get a 10 star review.  Be prepared for a bill not only from the doctor but a separate bill from Washington Hospital - they call a facility fee! Unassuming, kind gentleman as well as a master at his craft! The hike into & out of the joint replacement center and parking is challenging for most.

There should be a place to put 10 stars!  I am now 71 years old and have had multiple injuries and operations because of my active lifestyle, motorcycle racing, dirt bikes, snowmobiles, mountain bikes, hockey and many other sports and have had numerous fractures and tissue damage.  In 2015 I had my left knee replaced and it was a nightmare because the doctor in Los Gatos (will not mention the name) caused an infection and in the leg and many visits to correct the complications.Now I need my left knee replaced after exhausting all other remedies, injections, PRP, stem cells, steroids and meniscus repair, PT exercises but the last X-Ray showed bone on bone.  My search started and after a few months found Dr. Sah and his team's reviews.  Also a good friend had just had a partial knee replaced a few weeks ago with Dr. Sah and was totally impressed!I met Dr. Sah February 3, 2021 and a few members of his team and after seeing my current X-Rays (they did the X-Ray while I was there) and Dr. Sah explained his procedure, type of prosthesis he suggested and uses I felt I was in the right place.  Dr, Sah expressed that he had an opening February 18th and could do the surgery then.  I asked if I could confirm this date in the next day or 2 and he assured me that this would be OK.  i again did more research and was convinced that he was the right surgeon for me.  Well it is now March 7th, just a little over 2 weeks and i feel like a new man.The prep for surgery was at 4pm and I left the hospital at 9 pm.  I watched the complete surgery on the monitor and talked to Dr. Sah, the PA and anesthesiologist through the 1 hour surgery and was totally impressed with how his whole team operates.  Pre-op, op and post-op has been a wonderful experience and am so glad that I chose Dr. Sah his team for my second knee replacement.  Thank you so much for getting me back on my feet the day after the operation and back to my sports in such a short time.  Thanks for everythingAlan Cezar

Firstly, I should say I am not easily impressed.  When all the specialists I were seeing finally realized that I needed a hip-replacement, they all said Dr. Dearborn was the guy.  Nancy H. sums up him up quite well in her earlier review - she nailed it.  I will say that when my insurance company Aetna ( no longer with them ) denied my surgery 5 days before it was scheduled, after approving it over a month earlier - Dr. Dearborn did not pass it off to a staff member.  He personally called the person at Aetna who denied it and emailed him a picture of my x-ray and handled it just like that.  The surgery went great and 3 months later -  I feel like a new man. Pretty cool for 66 years old.This review is for one of the unsung heroes at Dearborn - one of his Physician Assistants named Dave.  I have seen Dave a number of times and I have to say that he is not only professional and caring - he is also compassionate and really smart.   He has always listened to me and taken the time to get right back to me whenever I email him.  Like I said - I don't impress easily - but Dave really impressed me.  Thanks Dave,Rick Schott

Over three years ago Dr. Sah did a knee replacement for me.  It was never right.  In fact, the difference between before and after was that before surgery it did not hurt all the time.  After it did.  Dr. Sah's replies, in a lovely voice:  you must have a very low pain threshold (no!), you were not prepared for the surgery (no!), the implant is perfect (oh not) and the most infuriating of all:  we never have an unsatisfied patient so we have no protocol for solving the problem.  Oh my, you should have heard my primary docs' reply to that!  Subsequently two prominent knee surgeons (UCSF and Stanford) had the same conclusion:  my knee is unstable, causing irritation and pain anytime I move.  They had different solutions, but their reason was the same one: wrong implant for my body type, with loose ligaments and very flexible (which by the way I have always had and was of course, obvious with any physical exam).  It's tolerable now after three and a half years and many many days of physical therapy.  So, my conclusion:  they do a great job of marketing--take a look at their "disclosure" statement.  and things like Dr. Sah's "handwritten" notes after visit.  Seriously???  Xeroxes with someone's signature.  I suspect that generally Dr. Sah's surgeries go very well, but if it doesn't, trust me, you are totally on your own.  By the way, the staff there is really terrific.
