Dr. Lew strikes me with a perfect balance between being caring and supportive and being professional. First of all, I feel comfortable to share with her my various struggles in career choice and family issues. In the whole process, she shows great sensitivity to cultural factors and gender issues. With Denise I feel like I have someone on my side. Meanwhile, she can really get to the core of an issue with sharp mind and sets of recommendations. Dr. Lew brings an intellectually sharp mind with a caring heart to her work as a psychotherapist. I appreciate her incisive insights and ability to hone in on subtleties that shed light on poignant, larger themes. I recommend her if you are a young adult woman in your twenties or thirties struggling to find your own voice, whether in your career, family of origin or personal life.  Dr. Lew is a strong and sensitive therapist especially when it comes to supporting women of color and first and second generation individuals.

Denise is an incredible listener and deeply compassionate.  She makes space for all feelings and really tunes into people's emotional complexities in way that feels supportive and encouraging.  She is brilliant, but also humble.  She's genuinely curious about other people and will help you pull back layers (gently!) so that she can understand you more clearly, but also so that you can understand yourself more clearly.  Denise is the kind of person you can share a shameful secret with and not fear judgment.  She's the kind of person who is deeply sensitive to what others are going through, but will hold a mirror up and help you face a difficult truth.  And she's the kind of person who is committed to lifelong learning so that she can serve her clients even better.

One of the most fascinating and exciting things about working with Dr. Denise is her great ability to see the big picture and not fall into the small misleading messy terrains of the heart. Her strength is her persistence to follow up on the things that matter. She uses very creative techniques to lead you the big picture beyond - to the things that truly count. I am myself an immigrant so it's personally important for me to work with someone who has understanding and awareness of the challenges of culture and society. So I think it makes it safer experience to me that she can personally relate to.So to summarize, I can warmly recommend checking Denise as a sweet warm person to work through the dark matters and all the rest that matter.
