Other than M.J., David, and one part-time front desk worker named Tez, the rest of the staff are terrible, lazy, rude, disrespectful, and racist, especially the Asian woman who prepares the breakfast in the morning who's always coughing over your food while she's preparing it. The hotel is near the highway where you hear traffic at night, and trash bins overfilling. The poor behavior is not corrected due to no recourse from upper management so the ongoing discrimination is part of their culture there.

If this has happened to you PLEASE share your story. CRIMINAL ACTIONS BY MANAGEMENT I feel like a large chain like this should know better than to lock someone out of their room/residence for any reason when they are fully aware you are a tenant and not a guest. Well that's exactly what happened to me. I moved in with the intentions of this being my home for an undetermined time and paid for 31 nights in advance at the rate of $91.08 per night. After 42 days of on time payments, I attempted to pay for a several additional weeks and was told my new room rate would be $149.00, the next day to $159 and the day after $189 for a total of $497 for 3 days compared to the $274.24 I had been paying previously for 3 nights. I politexplained this was unlawful as I am not a guest, I am considered a tenant and am protected against sudden rental increases under California Civil Code 827 (b) and Fremont Civil Code 9.60.030. I was told by and have a recording of the general manager acknowledging to me that I am indeed a tenant and she would not allow me access to my residence until I provided payment. I explained this was not legal and if she did not allow me into my residence I would call the police. She then said, with a snide tone of voice, "ok..ok"! This is a gross violation of the Tenant Protection Act. Not only that but this is a misdemeanor criminal offense under California penal code 418. I then headed directly to the Fremont police station to report the crime that had been undeniably committed against me. I spent nearly 5 hours at the police station waiting to talk to an officer about the crime that was committed. Finally an officer came out. Before I even explained what happened he said something to the effect of " I just talked to management and explained they can't lock you out. That there are certain laws they need to abide by and they agreed to let you back in" I said great. Thanks. Now I'd like to file a criminal complaint against the general manager. I let him listen to the sort 3 minute recording. The moment he listened to the recording he said let me get you the case number. I'm extremely distraught about this entire ongoing situation but I'm not about to back down from the legal battle no matter what the cost financially or mentally. I fully plan on doing whatever I can do within my legal rites to fight for my rites and expose this Residents inn for their unlawful business practices in relation to said ongoing matter. I'm hoping after this is investigated and I have all the documentation I need the local media will help me expose this matter in efforts to stop this from ever happening to anyone else. It won't be easy and it's won't be fast but it will happen. IF this has happened to you PLEASE share your story.

CRIMINAL ACTIONS BY MANAGEMENT
I feel like a large chain like this should know better than to lock someone out of their room/residence for any reason when they are fully aware you are a tenant and not a guest.
Well that's exactly what happened to me.
I moved in with the intentions of this being my home for an undetermined time and paid for 31 nights in advance at the rate of $91.08 per night.
After 42 days of on time payments,
I attempted to pay for a several additional weeks and was told my new room rate would be $149.00, the next day to $159 and the day after $189 for a total of $497 for 3 days compared to the $274.24 I had been paying previously for 3 nights.
I politexplained this was unlawful as I am not a guest, I am considered a tenant and am protected against sudden rental increases under
California Civil Code 827 (b) and
Fremont Civil Code 9.60.030.
I was told by and have a recording of the general manager acknowledging to me that I am indeed a tenant and she would not allow me access to my residence until I provided payment. I explained this was not legal and if she did not allow me into my residence I would call the police.
She then said, with a snide tone of voice, "ok..ok"!
