We had a lovely visit until I was reprimanded for bringing my service dog in to True Value in Ft Bragg. Young man had quite an attitude raised his voice from across the counter in front of all of the customers. Then proceeded to say Emotional support dogs are not allowed! At which time I offered my credentials to prove the validity. Wow! Unfriendly to say the least! Theres a way to speak to customers and that isnt it! Saw the beautiful natural beauty in Mendocino bluffs. Along came a middle aged jogger who promptly shouted at me and my 4 lb Yorkie Excuse ssss Meeeee !! very loudly then waved us out of his way. When I objected to his hostility, he began berating me as you people come here to visit and walk in front of him when he lives here! Not sure if he had an issue with the fact Im half Asian or visitors in general or both. He backed down when my husband (whos white)walked up to him! Not getting that warm and fuzzy feeling from residents in this area! Maybe I wont return and spend my money in a place where they appreciate us seeing how tourism appears to be the only industry there. Not too smart Mendocino residents!

Regions tied to tourism and public gatherings can expect to bear years long scars from the Covid pandemic. Go somewhere else with less stringent rules and regulations. These people dont want your tourism dollars. So take them elsewhere, youll be glad you did.
