Dignity Health Mercy Medical Group - OBGYN

The doctors are great however, for the past 3 years, the phone hold times are INSANE! HOLD times are 23-30 minutes, EVERY time. No Joke! I was hoping once Mercy/Dignity Health took them over this would improve. NOT! Reception doesn't even say anything when they answer your call, they just place you on an immediate hold. I am considering changing offices for this reason only. It is truly a nightmare to get through to the office. Snail mail would be faster! Also, the hold music is the worst!

Worst place ever, rude staff. Ended up in the emergency room because they refused to treat me. Their insurance policy is not inclusive because they lost contracts apparently. They took my money (40k to be exact) to deliver my son yet now they refuse service when emergency services arise.

Dr. Powelson and this office has gone above and beyond for me. I never thought Id say an OBGYN would be like family but they really have! To say Dr. Powelson has saved my life would be shy of an understatement. She has advocated for me more than my PCP and fought to make sure a general surgeon was there to fix some other issue while I was under. I unfortunately almost bleed to death in a soviet hospital 3 years ago and had an emergency ablation to stop the bleeding enough to get back to the USA. As soon as I landed I went to hospital ER where they referred me to them. Yes during the time the merged with dignity and somethings have changed but the love and care for her patient has not. Yes the phone will ring for days and I will hang up and call right back and it will go through. (This is not the dr nor reception issue) when I call the receptionist go above and beyond and make things happen, as does the staff as a whole. I have walked in the office and they just squeeze me in. They treat you with love and respect. DR P has done way more for me than any other doctor and most people have. I have been a complex patient from day 1 and she and this office have saved my life, respected my religious values, my goals in life and have made sure they have left me 100% better than they found. Advocating for not just OB but general surgeon and weight loss and making it so in a few months I get to return to living over seas. She will listen to you and not just listen but HEAR you. She has a great nurse who also will fight and avocation for you! I know there is some bad reviews but I will say this how many DRS Can you say treated you like family and hear you? Who have moved mountains for you? Well when it comes to OBGYN stuff you really kinda need this. At this office you will get this kinda care and so much more! -SVC

Used to be a great office, but things have changed since Dignity Health took over. Do NOT go here if you're uninsured. A normal yearly exam + pap used to cost around $200 (usually less) for me without insurance. I went to this office for my exam + pap back in August of 2022 and had to pay $258 at the desk. This was WITH discounts applied, otherwise the total would have been over $400. But wait, it gets better. A couple weeks later I receive a bill in the mail from Dignity Health for over $500! More than I've EVER paid for anything at this office. Luckily, I was able to call and get it lowered since some of it was apparently due to being double-charged. Whatever. I paid it, but I'm a little upset. Fast forward to April 2023 (over 8 months later), and I have received yet ANOTHER bill from Quest Diagnostics totaling almost $350 for this appointment. When does it end?? How do you send someone bills totaling to over $1000 for an appointment that used to barely cost over $200, if that?? How do you charge someone this kind of price without ever informing them beforehand of an almost 400% increase?! Needless to say, I'm done with this office as they've completely lost my trust. Hopefully this will help warn others who don't have insurance.

This office recently merged with dignity health. That's the staffs excuse for anything that goes wrong. I had received a urinalysis for a UTI. Instead of sending my sample into the lab, it got left on the counter and expired. For both my first trimester and second trimester genetic screening the paperwork magically disappeared when I would come to my appointments. I would have to go back another day to pick up the paperwork when I was instructed previously by my nurse to not leave without it, since it's time sensitive. Since becoming a patient here, the only person to give me any information and direction has been my nurse. Otherwise I've heard nothing from them about any of my genetic screening. I have received zero information regarding classes, birthing centers, next steps, how often should my appointments be, and simple things you're informed of with your first pregnancy. While attempting to switch doctors I called 2 separate days and my phone call was never answered. I was on the hold line for 25 minutes both times. When I went in to request my records to be sent to my new doctor the front desk staff, minus one person, was setting up decorations. I filled out a form with specific faxing instructions. I called in 4 days later asking first a status and was told my paperwork still had not been sent but would be done that day. It has now been 2 weeks, my paper was never sent. The office refuses to print it. I haven't seen a doctor since my 18th week of pregnancy. I'm not 23 weeks pregnant and still trying to obtain my records to move forward.
