If I could give less than a star review, I would. I would not recommend Vitas to anyone who cares for their loved ones. After just 4 days in their "care" we decided to fire them from my mother in law's care. My mother in law had a stroke in their care (day one) and they did nothing to assist her than to over medicate her to the point that she was drooling over herself. After speaking to my mother in law's primary care physician he said that she should have been sent to the ER the day of the stroke to be evaluated. But, it took us firing them and getting the physician to advise that she needed to go to the hospital asap (4 days later because VITAS still has not sent the information to her primary physician). We have a new hospice care giver, but they have yet to send over the paper work to transition after 2 days of my husband calling and speaking to people. Perhaps this review will actually Garner attention from them to Finally send the paperwork we need to properly transition her to a better hospice provider. I assure you that your family will die in their hands. They could not be more negligent.
