I needed a small but necessary repair on a strap used in my yoga studio. No functioning strap = no yoga practice. Carl made time for this small project on very short notice. The work was perfect. He was really great even being clearly very busy. I definitely recommend his work. Thank you, Carl!

Sent an email inquiring about work and after one response from the business owner I got ghosted. Never the hallmark of a good business when someone cant even take five seconds to email you and let you know theyre too busy to take on work, if that even was the case. Lack of common courtesy and professionalism; lost a potential customer.

Hello MiaSorry if your message slipped through the cracks. I did search for your name in my email and nothing came up. As a one man shop fielding multiple customer request a day while also trying to work on the furniture, on occasion I may miss a contact. I can't comment on the quality of workmanship. I took an old chair to have a spindle fixed. I was assured that it was an easy fix. After one month and no communication, I sent a text inquiring about any progress and received a short curt reply that he would let me know when finished. A second month went by and still nothing. I finally went back and retrieved the chair, no explanation or apologies, took it somewhere else and had it fixed the next day. If you need something repaired in a timely fashion, I would not recommend this place.

Dear Deb, while your lovely little chair was indeed an easy fix, it was one of many other projects we had in the shop at the time, most were much bigger. Our standard turnaround time is about 6 to 8 weeks. Sometimes more, sometimes less. We love little projects just as much as big ones, especially fixing little old wooden chairs and we make sure to do it right. Since you mentioned the chair had been broken and repaired before, we planned on making a brand new custom spindle on the lathe, which needed to be set up. With Covid, a personal injury, and time sensitive projects in the shop, the last few months have been very demanding. On the first text correspondence we indicated the shop is very busy, to which you responded "busy is good" and did not indicate you were looking for a rush job. When you contacted us again you did not look for explanation and insisted on retrieving the chair. We hoped to discuss this with you in person, but you came to the door without a mask and did not stay long enough to have a conversation. It is very frustrating when one's expectations are not met and we are sorry you feel unsatisfied with the experience. If you indeed fixed the chair, we hope it will last. If it doesn't, we're happy to give it another go.
