As a plant enthusiast with particular love for epiphytes (plants that live in trees), I have been coming to Bird Rock Tropicals for a few years now and it's like nothing else you've ever seen! Virginia and Pam are extremely knowledgeable and continue to release new hybrids of tillandsias and bromeliads. The place is magical to walk through but you need to make an appointment first.Today, I picked up some plants I had ordered online and had a chance to look at some others while I was there. Virginia was a delight as she showed me some areas to browse and answered my questions.  When I found a particular tillandsia that was part of a display on a palm tree trunk, she was quick to find out what it was and she was kind enough to sell me a division.I know they ship all over the world but if you're lucky enough to be in the neighborhood, I highly recommend going to their website and booking a time to visit. Plants range in price from a dollar to hundreds (so be forewarned that it's easy to get carried away!)
